To Whom It May Concern:

I am a Darren Hagen Fan. I am not related to Darren, nor have I known him personally for very long at all. In fact, I've maybe spent a collective total of a couple of days with him. However, I have been inspired enough by this gentleman to write this letter to you.

Darren Hagen is an incredible race car driver and an unbelievable talent behind the wheel of a multitude of different race cars. He is, as they say, truly "a natural". I've watched his career blossom from karting and mini-sprints to simultaneously competing full-time in two (2) different USAC National Championship open wheel divisions (Sprint Car and Midget) in 2007. In addition, as if that busy schedule wasn't enough, he has also successfully participated in various USAC National Silver Crown and local shows throughout the year. Although not a rookie, Darren is still very young, and yet he has managed to stay ahead of most of the veteran drivers in both divisions in the points chase…currently sitting in second place in the Sprint Car and Midget championships with the season winding down fast. Not many people in the history of the sport have been able to accomplish such a record of consistency in such a short career.

Along with some fierce competition that Darren has faced the entire 2007 season, he has the added difficulty and responsibility of driving for two entirely different race teams, which are housed in separate facilities in separate towns. Despite the challenges that this situation offers, Darren has managed to impress his car owners by assisting with the maintenance and daily work activities in both shops. He is currently employed full-time with the owner of the midget car that he drives. Whenever he can afford spare time, it is spent helping out the sprint car owner and crew. Not only is his support valuable to his racing teams, in my eyes it makes him a desirable asset to each organization. Not to mention the fact that it has allowed him to learn volumes of information about chassis fabrication, construction, setup, and strategy.

However, had Darren Hagen struggled this year, I would still be writing this letter to you. Darren Hagen isn't just another "young gun", or "up-and-coming" driver. Darren Hagen is a gentleman. His attitude is what sets him apart from the rest of the field off of the track. Despite his recent successes, he remains grounded and courteous to anyone that offers discussion. Talking to Darren in the pits before and after the races is a pleasure. But don't take my word for it…just ask his friends, fans, and even his competitors…I'm sure they'll agree.

What really impressed me about this "kid", however, is his drive and determination to do well in this sport, while maintaining a positive attitude. We all know that money is almost everything in this sport. It is easy to see who has it and who doesn't. Although Darren has had the support of family, owners, and sponsors in past seasons, he has made the 2007 racing season a personal challenge. The goal was simple…make a best-effort at winning two (2) National USAC titles with (2) top teams in the sport…while earning a living doing so. Not too many people realize that, in addition to moving to Indiana to focus on driving, Darren turned down offers of financial support, as well as good local rides, to do things on his own. If that's not desire, I don't know what is.

Darren Hagen is the ideal candidate for any top racing team in my opinion. He is a valuable "team player" for any owner and is truly a promoter's dream by offering exciting racing, excellent interviews, and by making the fans feel like family. Not to mention his appearance, demeanor, attitude, and drive make instant fans of any respectable personal relations advisor.

I honestly believe that the only thing keeping Darren Hagen from becoming one of the all-time "greats" is time. Given the opportunity and the resources that a well-funded, high-profile team is capable of providing to him, I know that this young man would make any potential owner proud and enjoy the fruits of success while doing so. His resume only confirms my opinions.

Please keep Darren Hagen in mind for any future vacancy you may have within your racing organization. Don't pass up the opportunity to share the rewards of his efforts…

I agree, everything said about Darren as a person and a driver is true.......but Darren has always had top rides..... the best of the best cars, motors, and teams(Kieth Kunz and The #32 Midget team).

Kieth Kunz has equipment that is just as fast as anything T.S.R and K.K.R can bring to the track each week.....so im sure Darren has nothing to complain about

what im trying to say is that even if Darren Hagen didn't get picked up by a team like T.S.R or K.K.R his future would still look grate for him

But i really don't consider a driver like Darren an "up and commer" for sprintcar and midget racing......for ARCA or NASCAR yes he is a definate up and commer

Drivers like Blake Miller, Jeremy Sherman, Garrett Hansen, Davey Pombo, David Cardy, Chad Boat, or Gred Taylor are all great up and commers for National USAC Teams to take a close look at for the future Smile
