I saw a post on a FB page that Mean Green ( cleaning products) was to start a 305 National Series. Is this just a rumor or is there some truth to it? The post said it was like 4000 grand to win and 250 to start. 85 races for next year already scheduled.

I was going to edit this post but it will not let me Edit. I do know that IMCA 305's is a national series so that is why I am a little confused.

4K to win. That would mean a 24 car purse would have to be in the 10K range probably. Sòooooo, I SURE AS H*LL HOPE NOT. Fields are diluted enough as it is, you keep adding classes especially with that kind of payout 360 and 410 guys are going to be looking at there programs. The racetracks are struggling for car counts as it is. DUMB*SS IDEA.

The Racesaver IMCA Sprint Cars are indeed nation wide, but there is not currently a travelling series.
I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks
anywhere.

One winner get as much as 16 others in the feature. Now that's how you build a division overflowing with cars!

IMCA can call their stuff whatever they want, but the "national" championships are not really national IMO. If you can win the championship without without leaving your home area or competing directly with the guy(s) who are close in points, then that's not national.
That being said, I would totally agree that no touring series is needed here.

At the Racesaver IMCA Nationals over Labor Day weekend last year, 117 cars from 24 states competed against each other......other than Nebraska drivers possibly having a "home track" advantage (but no more than you could say Knoxville regulars have)....I'd say that event presents a true National champion.....in four years, there has been one winner from NewMexico, one from Texas, and one repeat winner, Jack Dover from Nebraska.......expecting an even bigger turnout for the event this year...........SC

National touring series for a 305 is not what that class was meant to be nor what people on here tell me what it is currently. If it is a true traveling series paying that much it'll be the death of 360s as we know it. Pay is better than most 360 races and cost of a car is less... What will the drivers choose? Entry level compeition doesn't need a National Series or National Champion. Guys like Jack Dover running the Racesaver IMCA Nationals only proves the point. He is a very talented 360 driver that drops down to 305 cause the purse is decent enough for it to be worth his time. If it wasn't big names won't show and it can remain an entry level class. We know promotors love big car counts and since 305s are growing so big the purses will only increase and itll be a matter of time before we have more people like Jack Dover running the classes full time.

FYI, IMCA RaceSavers will be competing for the 1st time at the 22nd Annual Front Row Challenge in Oskalossa, IA Monday August 7th. Roger Hayden will be the tech man that evening. Any Schoenfeld muffler is required for 305's (410's must have Knoxville Style Schoenfeld muffler). Tickerts/Info by calling 515-957-0020

So if I'm following you, the IMCA Nationals is an event very much like the Knoxville Nationals. So if I use that logic, then Jason Johnson is the national champion of 410 racing even though someone else won the WoO title. No offense, that just doesn't make that much sense to me.

grass roots starter series with over the road rigs / travel budgets...sounds completely ridiculous...

Thanks for the heads up! I'm going to Iowa for the Nats in a few weeks. Would like to avoid sharks while I'm there....
