Fire "Sammy Swindell TMC #1" or "Sammy Swindell TMC" into the Google machine then click "images" tab.

Hopefully, you get the chance to visit the "Salute to Champion Sammy Swindell" at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum in Knoxville. Eight of Sammy's cars are displayed, including two TMC cars (one is a coilover car). There are also over 50 trophies, plaques, photos and other items including his drafting table.

I just saw a brief video walk-thru of the Swindell exhibit in the museum. That is pretty impressive.

Does anyone know how long Sammy's display will be up?
Hopefully that coil car is the independent front car that he had in Florida in 1986.

I think they said it was from 1992. It was a TMC car, even the springs were chomed!

I still have either a Sammy TMC model or a Brad Doty #18 still unassembled in the box. Bought them years ago and put one together and the other I never touched. It has to be 20-25 years old

Bomber...I personally have a passion for recreating sprints in scale, mostly the older stuff. I have found Pintrest to hold a vast array of pics of sprints from the old classics to today. I have used this to create nearly 20 of my favorite hero Doug Wolfgang. Another good site for that is scalesprints.com. while it hasn't been updated in quite some time since the owner of the site has battled some health issues and has mostly switched over to Facebook the archives in the message board or forum hold some amazing stuff for inspiration , etc and I suggest you check it out. The majority of the Wolfgang stuff is from myself.
Alum 427...while there is a picture on the box for guidance, it typically isn't as accurate as some more detailed oriented builders would like and obviously Bomber is looking for more detail. To some their Fandom for sprint car racing is "lived out" in different forms, or it is simply a way to recreate memories of their favorite car, driver or a race they attended...why be critical of of that with a snarky reply to an honest question ?

Dakotadude, to be honest I was under the impression that the photo on the box had to be current to the car. Snarky, not at all. Sammy never had a lot of decals on his cars and TMC took up the large areas. His cars have always been very simple.

Alum 427. I apologize if I took your comment wrong (it has been a long week and it's only Tuesday). One of the reasons I like the cars of that Era better than today is, as you say of Sammy's, was simplicity. And the TMC was awesome.

Pardon the split reply. Haven't posted in awhile and my fingers got trigger happy Alum 427. But as I was saying...I never have been a Sammy fan (and that debate has been beaten with a dead horse lol) the black TMC car still is arguably, in my book, the most beautiful sprinter to ever grace the dirt! Some of today's cars look like that old painting deal I remember from my childhood where the paper spun like a record and you blocked paint on it and somehow you became an artist.

Sammy always had the best looking WoO car thru out all his years. NANCE, TMC, CHANNEL LOCK, everyone of those mentioned were just awesome looking cars. Nothing matched those cars in my opinion.

Years back I stop by the shop in TN and I find Sammy on a ladder in his shop polishing/cleaning his tail lights on the Motorhome. You could have eaten OFF of the Shop floor let alone the rest of the place, something I'll never forget....
