The Huset's Speedway Hall of Fame Committee is proud to announce the 5 newest members into the it's Hall of Fame, along with the celebration that will take place to honor these deserving contributors to the lore that was and is Huset's Speedway.
The Class of 2017 includes one of the winningest drivers of all time, one of the most successful car owners and builders of all time and 3 former track champions: Jim Krueger, Loren Fick, Dan Jensen, Dave Ekern and Marlon Jones.
Krueger tallied 27 feature wins in his career throughout the 70s and early 80s in the 6 cylinder class. Fick was the car owner and builder for numerous wins and multiple championships. Jensen drove to the 1999 Huset's Late Model Stock Car title. Ekern was the 1980 and 1981 Huset's Street Stock champion before his successful sprint car career. Jones enjoyed much success locally and regionally, garnering the 1988 track championship at Huset's in the 410 Outlaw Sprint division.
The Committee is also very excited to announce the induction event that will be bigger and better than ever. The 2017 Huset's Speedway Hall of Fame Induction and Reunion will be held on Saturday, July 22nd at the Nordstrom-Johnson Building on the W.H. Lyons Fairgrounds in Sioux Falls. This event, which is open to the public, will be from 1 to 4pm with induction ceremony at 3pm. There will be a number of vintage, restored and current race cars on display, not to mention numerous old pictures and memorabilia items for fans to enjoy. There will also be a cash bar and snacks throughout the day.
