Unfortunately because of work I am going to miss this race but am excited that the Outlaws are going to be there. I wonder how many cars they will draw in for this event, Hopfully some Knoxville guys will show up. I just live a few miles from Liberty and just from talk at work alone it sounds like they should have a good crowd there. Being only 120 miles from Knoxville, surprisingly this is a big Late Model area and a lot of the folks in this area haven't seen Sprint cars let alone the World of Outlaws!! Hope it works out and is a good show so maybe they will come back.

I've never seen sprint cars there however The Sprint Invaders have been there several times I believe for their fair. So I'm pretty sure the one lap track record will fall. I'm excited to see The Outlaws there as well. I'm hoping for 30 cars.

30 cars is likely and should be expected but I will be fine with anything above 24. Make sure if you go to have their tenderloin! Really hope they put some water in the track but if their track prep weekly says anything to how the track will be Friday it will be dry.

Better tenderl than Knoxville? We'll be there early tailgating. Cooking up some Italian deer brats so I'll pass this time on the tenderloin.

It probably depends on what you like but I think the majority of people who have had a tenderloin at both race tracks would say West Liberty's is the best.

Haven't had a tenderloin at West Liberty (never been there) but did have the famous tenderloin sandwich at Knoxville about 2 weeks ago, it was nothing to write home about. The tenderloin at Bloomingtom was just as good for a couple of bucks less. Not a big fan of track food.

West Liberty tenderloin > Knoxville concession stand tenderloin (not the trailer outside track during Nationals...I have never tried that one)

The one outside of the stands next to the ticket office has very good tenderloins. Bigger and better than the tracks in my opinion.

You flying commercial? I'd check The Quad Cities, Des Moines and Dubuque. I doubt if any of them are cheaper than Cedar Rapids though. O'Hare is probably a 4 and a half hour drive. Madison, WI maybe three and a half hours.

From Des Moines it's about 150 miles 2.5 hours
From Cedar Rapids it's about 60 miles
All According to Google Maps

Good question... am wondering how many 410 races have even been held there where they would've timed??? I'm thinking there was maybe an open 410 show or All Star show from the late 90's... maybe? As someone noted above, the Sprint Invaders have had a few shows there over the past few years... I attended one of them... decent show.

If 410's ran there from the 90's on I would bet they ran qualifying. Surely they have it listed somewhere even if it's for a late model.

For those of you who have seen West Liberty what track do you think it most closely resembles that The Outlaws run? Been a long time since I've been there (probably 20 years) but from what I remember it's a big half miles with not much banking in the corners.

Fair board president told me back when they measured it to pour the concrete wall around the outside that you would have to go a foot outside the wall all the way around to travel half a mile.

Your memory isn't far off. I've been there a few times to watch modifieds/late models run 20+ years ago... and more recently to watch the Sprint Invaders. It has fairly short straights and wide, sweeping corners... somewhat similar to Knoxville in that regard. It might even be banked a little less than Knoxville.
