Ummmm, he is great, but great horsepower don't hurt. He drove around Schatz like he was tied to a tree. Motor helps A LOT.

HP does help when we're talking about big tracks - Knoxville, Eldora, etc. Not as much on a smaller bullring type track like Eagle. Driving ability will always be the x factor. In this instance Kyle didn't drive around Schatz bc of HP. Kyle had a better line and was able to find moisture up top where Donny couldn't quite get the forward bite needed through the middle. Also the reason Kyle blew by Daryn in turn 4. Kyle up top and Daryn on the bottom. Kyle made the Top work in the latter stages of the race then sealed the deal by blocking (some may say chopping) Daryn going low into 1.

Eagle is a bullring?? Not being shitty, just asking. Was there once in 93 and it was no bullring.

eagle raceway is a 1/3 mile high banked dirt track. it IS considered a short track but a little too big to be considered a bullring.tracks like placerville, chico, the burg,tri-state i would consider bullrings.

Yep raiders is right I shouldn't have said bullring above but rather "high banked short track." Though it's not far off from a bullring, but yeah I think Kokomo, p-ville, etc. with bullrings so my mistake. Eaither way driver won the race, not HP, not engine, etc.

A 1/3 mile is a bullring to me also but watching the video it looks a little bigger - like 3/8 or 4/10, maybe because of the speeds and the width of the track. Of course here in PA, anything shorter than a half-mile is a "bullring.

Eagle is my "home" track. It used to be referred to as "the World's Fastest 1/3 Mile Track" (think I have that on a t-shirt somewhere). Johnny Gibson announced before qualifying that the WoO had measured the track at the midpoint between the bottom and the top of the track and it was in fact .306 miles long, which is what they used for their timing/speed conversions.
The corners are wide which might make it look bigger, but it isn't much bigger than a bullring.

Thanks rolldog, guess I wasn't too far off calling it a bullring...

I am 99% sure Dennis Roth owns the engines and if so, I believe they are Speedway built.

I'm nearly positive that the engine that was in Saldana's car at Knoxville last Saturday had a Kistler sticker on it.

They are Fisher/Kistler/Speedway/etc/etc. We will find a dozen different high paid guys to work on our stuff as long as the head looks just like a 1955 chevy.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

Might have been a Kistler sticker on Joey's car, the question was about Kyle's car and Roth according to the press releases has several of his engines with the 17 team right now, so could have been Speedway. It got the job done whichever it was.
