Question for you........ I realize that SLS promoted the race last night (at least I think) and the Outlaws are expensive, but what was the rationale for the $37 price point for a reduced purse?

.....and for not starting on time. Couldnt believe that it being a Tuesday night show and possible weather coming in that it didnt start on time. Luckily all was fine and the weather stayed away. I will say that is usually not the case for Eagle.

I'm sorry, but I couldn't tell you. As you stated, SLS promoted the race (leased the track). They had control over everything with the exception of concessions.
I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks
anywhere.

Badger Boy, meant no offense at all and did not mean to suggest you didn't know about engines, etc.
Elk Grove Ford (a dealership) is a major sponsor of the 17, so yes Ford decal, but for a Ford dealership. Schatz's Ford decal IS for the Ford brand (not a specific dealership per se).
Ford is working with TSR / Schatz / Ron Shaver to develop a 410 engine, but it is not finished yet. They're building it from the ground up and at each phase components, etc. have to be tested and approved by WoO. It's not done yet nor to my knowledge is it far along enough yet for "testing."
The engines in the 17 (or 17s) are Chevy based. There's no approved 410 Ford on the WoO circuit right now.

Nickules, Thanks much for your reply and the great info concerning the Ford signage on the Schatz #15 car and the Saldana # 17W cars--much appreciated. Best wishes, Badger boy

A couple of thoughts from someone who was at the races last night.
Kyle drives the car very hard. They had a motor issue after his heat race and we were joking that the crew needed to tighten things up since everything was "Joey tight, not Kyle tight". He is able to drive the car just on the edge of being in control. Sometimes that means checkers, other times that mean wreckers.
He and Shane Stewart had an awesome battle for second place. Close racing all over the track. He definitely makes them step their game up.
Donny was good, but not great last night. He was not fast in the middle and didn't ever seem to find a line he liked.
I wonder if Kyle would drive that hard over an entire season? A lot of maintenance on the car to be done...
I also question how much the NASCAR racing helps him. He's got to stay sharp for 3+ hours on Sundays. That has to make it easier to focus for 30 - 50 laps. He did sound like he was a little out of breath when he got out of the car last night.

"He did sound out of breath after". I remember a few years back when tony ran husets, then flew straight to Daytona for practice. I believe he said racing 30 laps on a 3/8ths mile in a 410 was 100 times harder that driving the Daytona 500

Drinking iced tea is more difficult than riding around Daytona at 190 in a car capable of 230.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?
