Knoxville Regulars VS The Outlaws
Who ya got? Clean sweep either way or split? Madsens, Brown, Donny, Gravel, Sweet, maybe others???
With the Outlaw format being used I'm gonna give the edge to Brown on Friday night as he has qualified really well and will finally not have to worry about any invert than the dash (assuming he is in it). Saturday though looks HOT and wouldnt be surprised with a dry track. I look for Donny to shine on the Saturday program. Fridays track will likely have a better cushion but hey you never know.

I guess we can have a little fun. I will say Kerry on Friday night and Gravel on Saturday night. (I don't have a particular reason----just pulling out of thin air and maybe Gravel will establish himself on a big, dry track)

On any given night, both Madsens, and Brown have proven they can be "Outlaw fast". Kerry is probably the only Midwest car right now who can consistently give them a run, but Brown at Knoxville will be stronger than he was at Jackson.
The Outlaws tend to be better on night 2, so I'll go w/ a local on Friday and Schatz or Stewart on Sat.

I'm going with the general consensus here. The madsens or brown will win one night likely, and outlaws will take the next. As far as who wins for the outlaws, Schatz would be who I'd expect but Schuhart has been racing very well this year on bigger tracks and big stages with the wins at Eldora and Charlotte (can't recall the first track but I believe it was in Cali).

Madsen is fast, but he's not on Brown's level at Knoxville.
So far there have been 4 nights of 410 racing at Knoxville. Kerry and Brown have split fast times, each has 2. Brown has won 3 out of his 4 heat races and finished 2nd the other, starting from row 3 every time. Kerry has yet to win a heat race. And so far Madsen has not finished ahead of Brown in any feature all season even though Madsen has started either ahead of or in same row as Brown every race. Brown has 2 wins, a 2nd, and a 3rd compared to a 2nd, 7th, 4th, and 4th for Kerry.
No doubt Kerry could win both features this weekend, but there is also no doubt who's the biggest local threat to beat the Outlaws at Knoxville.

I'd put Ian ahead of Kerry currently as well.

Well I have to admit I'm rooting for the locals which is only right.......Brown is sure looking like he did a few years ago at Knoxville, Ian Madsen has gotten stronger each of the past 3 years, and Kerry is in the only real WoO calibur ride (I've been to their facility....WOW!). McCarl seems to be off his pace there right now but at any given time he can peak, and Lasoski doesn't have the car, but probably is as good there as anybody, ever, when he does. It's going to be hot and dry all week, but the Duncans can deal with anything when it comes to prepping the Knoxville track. I think it's up to Brown, or Kerry Madsen for the locals. On the WoO side I'd say Schatz, Pittman or Stewart have the edge on the big flat track. Sweet has shown he can run a low groove, and it wouldn't surprize me if that's where the race is won this weekend. Particularly on Saturday. Schatz shines down low, also. A low groove will open the door for more potential winners. Looking forwrd to a hell of a show both nights. In other words, after all that, I sure as hell can't pick THE winners!

Only way Ian wins is if he starts on the front row. Very rarely does he actually pass cars to win. Saturday is going to be very hot and windy so it will probably rubber down by the end of the night. Starting up front will be critical for anyone to win. Dunkins are the best but can only do so much when Mother Nature acts like that.

Does punting cars to win count as passing them? ...I kid, Ian's been better this year...except for that slider on Lynton a few weeks ago...but he has been better. Was it the WoO race in Knoxville last year where he took out like 5 cars coming to green? Can't remember the exact race it was in. Ouch...

I like it. One week after the Madsen's became the 2nd set of brothers to win back to back WoO features, the Phillips boys become the 3rd!

It will be a stout field and I wouldnt be surprized if the winner doesnt start off the front row.I personally think Knoxville regulars have 4 of the top ten drivers .Schatz and Gravel will be tough. The Madsens,Brown ,Lasoski ,are all very good on the long track that horsepower and open air are factors.Put them on a 3/8 and it would be different.I would like to Logan or Sheldon make it a popular win or someone that is not a favorite but odds are pretty slim.

Well 0-1...racing in the 410 main with 15 to go turned sour real fast. Thinking tomorrow a delayed start especially having 360s on hand is probably needed.
Couple thoughts from the night though was man did Shane Stewart ruin Browns night from the get go. It was good racing but all those sliders just cut into Browns momentum and he started trying things he doesn't excel at. I think around the top Brown was either the fastest or second fastest car there. Nothing against Stewart as he was just racing hard to finish best he could.
Sweet looked fast all night and ready for nationals.
Ian passed quite a few cars for the haters saying he doesn't pass people.
Outlaw formats and cost /value < Regular Saturday racing format and cost/value
Brown was pretty dirty with Joey in the heat race but what a good race.
Don't count Donny out on night two.
Was Madsen all that late to staging? Seemed tic tac and then the start.... yes we all were watching for the jump. I've seen worse and think it would have been let go if he hadn't been penalized and shown his displeasure before that.
