Well. Keep badmouthing individuals and businesses and this is what you get. Social media is a promotors worst nightmare,  most hide behind a screen name and are trolls that hide under a keyboard. 

What a shame... I feel for ya out west, this is just such a terrible situation for all drivers, fans, and the economic impact to the area as well. I hope someone can revive Huset's and make it a storied track again.

If Med Star was contracted for on track incidents only then that is all they are responsible for.  Did their contract specify they had to be there by a certain time?  If not then as long as they were on site ready to go before the first car pushed from the pits they fulfilled their contract.  I have been to many races where the safety crews and ambulances arrive a few minutes before warm ups started.  Now, if they were in violation of their contract that is different.  However, I doubt that was the case because they would not have gotten paid.  just because they came earlier other times doesn't mean they must continue to do it as long as they fulfill their contracted responsibilities.

I agree....that was a a pretty silly excuse...he really didn't have to mention any specific reason or reasons publicly...it just makes him seem petty... 

Safety crew at knoxville is there long before hot laps. I've seen them walking the pits chatting with drivers and crews about safety of their equipment. Thats why their hands down the best in the country !!!

z-man. i don't troll and bad mouth anybody. if i cann't say it to your face i won't say it behind your back. i've been around racing most of my 63 +  years  from a toddler sitting in the seat of my fathers jalopy to driving to turning wrenches. being retired i venture into a few of these forums and see many making the stupidest of comments. people were hanging the promotors before they heard both sides of this story. which side are they on know ? maybe they should have said, yea get in your cars on go out there on the racetrack. we trolls could care less if safety personnel is on site. we paid for are ticket and have rights.

Social media can be a track's best friend when used properly as well, but if you do something that fans/drivers get upset with then it's their worst enemy. Social Media is a big part of what got me more into racing (I'm 21, so younger generation) and tracks that use it significantly help promote themselves when done properly. It's the new and free way to advertise.

What time were warm ups?  Was Med Star there prior to the warm ups?  If so, then your argument is a straw man.  If they were not, then they were in breach of contract and should not have been paid, that may have been a problem that night, but it seems a little fishy that, if they were in breach of contract, they would get paid for the "remainder" of a season that won't be run.

And let's be honest here, the "business" that Brennan has made his money in, is, no matter how you feel about it, a controversial one.  I find it very hard to believe that any of the social media stuff that comes from Dirt Track sites and fans would ever rise to the abuse that his primary business receives, probably on a daily basis.  I have a hard time believing that someone involved in such a business would not be used to not always being well thought of, and  would have skin that is this thin. 

Like has been said elsewhere, if the business was profitable, you put up with the haters, if you are taking a bath, but trying to salvage your pride, you take your balls and go home, but find a scapegoat for all of your problems. 

    I kind of disagree with you here. Social media issues are not the problem. They are a symptom of the problem. The problem was fans were voting with their feet and staying home. The track closed because it was not turning a profit. If diners stayed away from a restaurant because of bad online reviews, would it make any sense to close down the restaurant and blame it on the bad reviews? If that's how social media worked, wouldn't Delta Airlines have closed down a long time ago?

What really gets me his price what he has in the track went up 5 million dollars since last fall.

Back then selling price was 10 mil now it is 7.5 mil and that is half of what he has into it per their website.

I agree with you.  I would like to see all of his paid bills to prove it.  All he would have to have done is tell the safety crew that he wants them there 1 hr before engines start next time.  I would guess he is hard to get along with.  He probably lost his ass with the Silver race payout and he wants to use MedStar as an excuse to cancel rest of races.  Iknow for sure no one like WOO would ever sign another contract with him,  and his actions might make it harder to sell the track.

So...the Badlands is STILL on the World Of Outlaws schedule... thoughts?
