I think a bigger issue is that last year, the winner's share was worth $25,000 (according to the Press Releases anyway) and this year those same 75 Silver Bars are worth $12,225 (according to the Spot Price of Silver at noon today).

2016 Silver shootout paid 166 silver bars for 1st place.  83 Silver bars for 2nd,  66 Silver bars for 3rd

Dobmeier won around $27,000

It paid more than 75 bars to win last year. It paid 166 bars to be exact.

The pay did come down for the 410 class compared to last year, but I don't mind a $12K+ 410 show for a track that was supposed to be closed.

I see Josh Baughman has this event scheduled, could see a few other ASCS guys come for it as well

Pit pass is $25 so $250 for those and I googled rear Hoosiers at $125. So around $375 savings for the team.

My guess is Chuckie will annouce a $10K bonus the night of the Silver Cup.... drops that much at the tables in Vegas!

Right and left rear Hoosiers are no less that $200 with tax involved.

didn't realize that last year paid 166 bars.

What I do know after looking at current spot price for Silver, the total purse is currently around $82,000.

When the Silver was purchased, it was worth $100,000 (and will be again someday when Silver Prices increase again).

Still a great purse and should draw a good field of cars up there.  My best guess is around 23-24 (depends on IRA schedule / weather and how many Grand Forks and ASCS guys show up).  Could be a bigger car count than many expect even without some of the bigger names in attendance.

My best guess on driver's that have been running Kville that will be @ Badlands

K. Madsen - big $$ race, I see them chasing as many of these in the midwest as possible

Matt Juhl - makes sense due to his location

TK - ditto - dumb business decision to not stay there

Others:

Dobmeier

Balog

guys from River Cities

Lasoski

BWW82

MATT JUHL - KNOXVILLE

MATT JUHL - KNOXVILLE

wow,  surprised since he's from that area.

I think he will win the RoY at Knoxville this season going off how great he looked in limited starts a year ago.

I'm sure both tracks will be fine when it comes to car count as it will give the River Cities guys a chance to race on a Saturday night and still make it home on Sunday for rest before going back to work on Monday.
