The 21 and 15 were on the gas hard, unfortunately we only saw some 15 on the live feed but the 21 most have been on fire as well. When Monteith makes one of his charges it's worth the price of admission right there, doesn't always end well but it sure makes the race. Gravel was gone, nobody was close all night from what my fading memory remembers....

The 21 lost a BUNCH of productive laps by timing like crap as usual when the big boys come to play...

Someone posted that Gravel came from 7th. That is incorrect. He started on the pole.

Check the date on that post; it wasn't about Gravel's win at Lincoln. This thread was started in April regarding another of his wins and picked back up after last night (5/17).

The WoO format is pathetic. Never passed a car all night long. In the meantime, both Schatz and Montieth were coming in a hurry. One caution of any sort and odds are you have a different winner.
|
Their actually were a couple of cautions in the beginning.are you saying that he only won because he didn't have to pass cars??
think their was a caution in the heat race or dash as well. It just was his night. He sure passed a lot of cars in the A main.
How would you You like the format to go. Posse in the Front outlaws in the back??

Did he dab again?
If he can get away with dabbing still, I'd also like to see The Dougie, Stanky Leg, Lean Back, ChaCha Slide, Running Man, The Urkel, Boot Scootin' Boogie, Macarena, The Hustle, Watusi, Mashed Potato, Hand Jive, Rumba, Foxtrot, The Charleston, Slow Drag, and the Cakewalk.
Anyway congrats to the #5!

Gravel had the best car last night. People can say what they want about Schatz and Montieth charging which was fun to watch, but neither of them timed well enough to start close to the front in their heat race which put them behind the eight ball. That seems to be the story for Montieth every time he runs a WoO race. Time like crap, charge from the back in the feature. Gravel left the field in lapped traffic. Dietrich was better than Pittman, just didn't get through lapped traffic well enough

The tale of two seasons: it's all good now , but in 6, maybe 8, weeks (or 6-8 hours) it will all be about the 15 car.
How many times did the 11 car look rather ordinary until mid-July?

Win #10 last night. Only 14 drivers in the history of the Outlaws have had double digit win seasons.

Correct. Gravel is way too inconsistent to stay with Schatz. Sweet is the only threat. Gravel is way further behind in points than he was 6 weeks ago.

It is an elite group.....14 drivers, but the number is a little decieving. Double digit Feature wins over the years has been accomplished 79 times. Steve Kinser of course leads the way with 25 seasons in double digits, followed by Sammy with 15 seasons, Schatz with 10 seasons(now), Mark Kinser with 7 seasons, Wolfgang, Dave Blaney and Lasoski with 4 seasons each, Joey has 3 seasons, Stevie Smith 2 seasons and now with Gravel, there are five drivers who have done it once. The most competitive year was 2000 when four drivers did it and there was a year or two when no one did. So yes.....congratulations to Gravel for making that list. He will more than likely add additional double digit seasons to his count total.

Both interesting stats, thanks guys.
Someone mentions above inconsistency and yes that is the key. Gravel has experienced some inconsistency this year, but consistency comes with experience and he'll become more and more consistent. Still seems to be a 3 horse race between Schatz, Sweet and Gravel. 4th - 6th (Stewart, Pittman, Johnson) while relatively far back from 1-3 is tight as well.

There's always a guy or 2 or 3 that is better than everyone, the fact that only 15 have done it shows how hard it is to be at that level.
