Hey all,
I'm not one to self-promote but I wanted to let people know that I have been given the opportunity to take over as the motorsports writer for PennLive. Jeremy did a great job and expanded this position greatly and we should all be thankful for that. My only goal is to continue to give sprint car racing positive media coverage in an honest way. If you notice anything that you think I can improve on, please - I'm all ears.
Here is a link to my articles this weekend:
Friday at Williams Grove: http://www.pennlive.com/sports/index.ssf/2017/03/hodnett_and_heffner_still_on_t.html#incart_river_index
Saturday at Port Royal/Lincoln: http://www.pennlive.com/sports/index.ssf/2017/03/dietrich_doubles_up_at_lincoln.html#incart_river_index
Thanks everybody,
Anthony Corini

Congrats Anthony, always enjoyed your "free" commentary via Twitter Glad you're getting paid to do it in a journalistic role. Good stuff. Our sport needs more coverage from mass media.
Don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but now that you're an "objective journalist" you may run afoul of some readers via social media if you congratulate drivers or things of the like. Jeremy always did a good job of staying neutral and reporting good, bad, indifferent, etc. via social media. It's the old "journalists don't cheer in the press box" type stuff that may be antiquated, but some still adhere to. That's obviously between you and PennLive.
Congrats !

This is definitely something that I have thought about deeply. I asked one of my role models in the sport on his thoughts about this facet of 'reporting' and he said "If you don't make it a problem, it won't be a problem." And that is the mentality I'm going to take as long as I can. I don't foresee it being an issue as long as I remain equitable in what I put out. As for the news and reporting on such, my goal is to be an honest contributor to the sport. I'm young, I'm sure I will make some mistakes down the road - but I know that is part of the experience and I believe that if I go forth honestly I will be headed in the right direction the majority of the time.
Thanks for the message and don't she shy to stop me at the track or let me know how you think I can improve throughout the year.
