Many folks always say the posse doesn't leave the porch...I see 11 of the 38 at bubba tonight are posse. Not many midwest or cali teams.
Fast is sweet but, sweeter on dirt.

This must be the part of the year where the greater Pennsylvania area is considered Posse, as opposed to Central PA.
I'd put the true number of what most consider to be Posse at 4-5.

One race into the year and here we go with the Posse bullshit again. Who cares who is or isn't there? It isn't like the Posse's recent record outside of Central PA is particularly impressive anyhow. Hodnett and Dietrich both finished in the top 10 (7th and 8th respectively) but went backwards. Hodnett started 2nd and Dietrich started 6th. Regardless, I'd like to know how anyone figures there were 11 Posse teams there. But since it was brought up, there were 6 of our guys there. Ryan Smith, Greg Hodnett, Brad Howard, Steve Buckwalter, Mark Smith and Danny Dietrich. Of those 6, Ryan Smith and Brad Howard are running the full ASCoC tour. Mark Smith is primarily running 360's these days but he does still race primarily in Central PA. The rest of those 11 are Western PA cars and Western PA cars have never been considered Posse.

Map reading is complicated. Alternative facts make more sense to some folks.

Nice field of cars. I'm actually surprised that many cars would travel to FL for 5G to win races.

My point is, most keyboard rangers on here complain about pa drivers not moving around. I'm just politely pointing out the lack of movement by the more superior teams that reside in the Midwest and west. Even though I see many more pa guys making the leap to all stars and outlaws the past few years.

Agreed. Central PA undoubtedly has some of the most dedicated, knowledgeable and just all around great people in all of sprint car racing. I've got a lot of great friends who I met at the races. Unfortunately, we have some loud dumb ones too. Maybe more than anyone and it's a shame because 99% of the fans in Central PA are top notch.

No ifs, ands or buts about that! PA does have a huge population of sprint car fans that know what the hell is going on. As far as Posse..... PA or Central PA, it's not as important for many of us not from there to distinguish where the line is drawn for Posse driver membership. But when a driver does stray in from a far away land we recognize them as invaders or friendly guest participants. Some fans get carried away no matter where you may look......each area has loyal fans. As for "getting off the porch" is concerned, in today's fiancial climate it's getting tougher and tougher to do so. Fewer teams from the Midwest travel anymore, too. In the same breath, where outside of PA/Ohio is there the opportunity to race as much as there is there? Nowhere. Why travel? Pretty cool when you only have to travel from the porch to the backyard to find a place to compete. Especially with the quality of competition that exists. For as long as I can remember, and my memory is still pretty good, PA has been the place to be for sprint car fans that want to see a lot of great racing. Even the fans don't have to wander far from the porch. A luxury we sure don't have here in the Midwest, like we used to have. PA is still a pretty sweet place for a sprint car fan!

A great way to motivate a favorite racing team to travel is to press a few thousand bucks in their hand. Anything short of that is wishful thinking. I can't afford to do that so I'm happy with whoever rolls in the back gate.

I won't disagree with you there. I feel damn fortunate to live where I do. Central PA is a great place to be if you're a sprint car fan. We are spoiled.

Totally agree. One of the things you hear from time to time in Central PA is a few of the Port Royal homers giving Brian Montieth shit for not towing up there every time Lincoln is dark. I've always said the same thing as you. If you want them there that bad, cut them a check. I'm sure Mr. Parrish and his driver would race anywhere anytime if the price is right. A race team isn't obligated to show up just because some fan without a dime invested thinks they should be there for whatever reason and it's certainly no one's business outside of the team.
