Well, we got our room for the 360 Nats. at the Red Carpet Inn. Any reviews anyone cares to share?

Well their not rolling out any red carpet but despite all the jokes above, it's not that bad. I've stayed there many times and I survived without any skin rashes, viruses, bacterial infections, STD's, or unplanned pregnancies. Just needs a little updating, that's all. And by a little, I mean alot.

They used to have a pair of BIG dogs for security but the cockroaches ate 'em.

The motel is not that bad, but 360 races suck.

BS, the 360 races are good with alot of top name 410 drivers. If most people were not told they were 360 they would not know the difference.

You are correct on both counts! The red carpet aint too bad, and the better option for racing that weekend is the Ironman at I55 in Pevely, MO! I gave up the 360 kinda nats for I55 years ago and never regret it!

While entitled to your opinion we should still give some credit to the 360 Nationals. I've never made it to the Ironman cause well lets face it when you have 9 of 10 days of racing straight all within a half hour of where you live you stay put. So I cant offer much on how good the Ironman is. I'm sure its great and would love to go someday. But I can say that some 360 Nationals have been great in years past with many top notch drivers. I will never forget the prelim night a few years back with Lasoski and Larson trading position a couple times on the last lap just to name one that comes off of the top of my head. That was a great race!

The 1st time that I went to the 360 nationals (mid 2000s) the actual racing was great but there were more people in the pits than there were in the stands. I believe that there were no 410s there that night. I don't know if its still like that but I definitely got the impression that nobody really cared about the 360 nationals. I haven't been since they moved the date to be closer to the 410 nationals - Hopefully it's better now.

I go to the 360's because:
360's are 95% of the sprint car racing in my home area. So I'll support whats in my area.
Only 2 410 shows within 350 miles of my home town.
The 2 410 shows in my area, the car counts suck. 19 total sprints, and 4 were 360's, yes it was a WoO race.
I find the racing much more entertaining in the 360's.

Back when their was 410s running a regular night on the same night as the 360 nationals that was the best ticket one could buy for 25 dollars. A huge class of 410s prepping for the 410 Nationals plus all of the big names still running double duty. After they split the 410s out I think the crowds did decrease a little. Thursday and Friday nights seemed slimmer than a regular Saturday and Saturday seemed just like a normal Saturday. This past year however I thought the crowd was up compared to previous years. Dollar beer night on Thursday helped with that plus some good marketing in the area.

We used to get up there for the Sat 360 show. But being from MO it's hard for me to pass up the Iron Man now because, well, it's sprint cars at Pevely. The racing there is usually just better then Knoxville 360s. But the Sunday Cappy Classic at Knoxville has gotten pretty good.

The 360 bashing makes me chuckle. That Hall of Fame is full of revered legends that never turned a lap as fast as today's 360 s in their entire career. The speed snobbery leaves me dazed and confused.

The Cappy has been pretty good! The Australian Pursuit has been excellent here the past few years. I still wouldnt blame anyone for going to sprints and midgets at I-55. Both sound great right about now...

The Red Carpet Inn is in a perfect location. Taking a stroll back and forth to the race track is waaaay better then parking at the track, fighting traffic and risking a conversation with the local donut squad. If you are the type of person that demands perfection The Red Carpet is not for you, the owner is a wonderful host,
Rich M
p.s. Love the Ironman too
