DeWease 13th? Jason Johnson 15th? I'm waiting to see 12 guys who are better, besides Schatz, Hodnett & 1 or 2 others...

It takes an entire season to be at the top. I'm in no way disagreeing that Lance is up there, but the points are based on how they were ranked in our Weekly Sprint Polls. When he takes a couple of weeks off, he drops down and earns less points. Similar with Jason Johnson, who wasn't getting onto many of the ballots until late July/August

Agree, Rico should be higher too. Big wins against stout competition should trump being out there every week. Like in baseball, the batting champ isn't the guy with the most AB's. It's the guy with the highest average.

So you're just adding up weekly totals? I guess thats one way to do it, but seems pretty mechanical to me, misses the big picture. Shane Stewart in the Top 5 with 2 wins??? Lance won 10 out of what, 21?
Ratings are ratings, I guess it keeps us occupied in Silly season....

2 wins? Stewart had 8 outlaw wins, a winter heat title and the cappy classic.

I actually had 12 wins based on Sprint Source. His official site just links to the WoO schedule where he had 8.
But yes it did say 2, not 12. Hell of a time for a typo. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Adding up weekly totals is the only way I could think of that weighed races early in the year the same as races late in the year. I'll continue to look for ways to improve this poll, and I'm open to all suggestions. Thanks for the feedback.

Soitenly welcome. Thanks for having an open mind...
Ratings are just an abstraction anyway, each race is different

Guess 2 wins and an all-star championship carries more clout than 2 wins that include the Knoxville Nats and World finals? Lasoski 7 wins - 5 of which were weekly Knoxville shows(other 2 nsl) is better than drivers who won more times and bigger races(WOO and ASCoC) in less starts, hmmm. That wasn't even good enough to keep his ride.
