Who's to say Dale didn't call them knowing he was out of a ride, and they had one availble?

I'm suprised that towing out for the Doty/Royal week wasn't part of the deal?

I don't think the Zemco car with Lucas went to the Doty/King's Royal the last few years. Not sure when the last time that car made the tow for those. Crew probably have jobs and in lieu of that half week of racing they go to Nationals. They do go to the SIlver Cup at Lernerville the Tues after KR, but they could do that trip same day, well same 12-16 hours-ish.

Alan Cole, former driver of the Sorokach 35 was pretty tall.

Chuck Ward back in the mid 80's was rather tall as well.

The best of the best have been drawn to Posseland since before you and I knew what a sprint car was. Stay warm.

Don't want any snow, ever! No fun anymore, haven't skied in years...Been going to the races since the mid 50's, they were called modifieds (as you know) back then, saw many of the early greats....Kinda boring around these parts, heck even I thought twice before throwing out that well used lure, might be time to call it a day?....Probably....Enjoy life ol' friend....

The Zemco car was pretty sucessful in Ohio when Stevie Smith drove it. They won a Speedweek title and I think the Jim Ford Classic. Maybe having Dale behind the wheel might convince them to truck over to the buckeye state more. Dale's record in Ohio speaks for itself. He's made a lot of money in here.

Thanks wasn't aware of the Speed Week title with Stevie. Wonder if Dale is going to continue living in OH or relocate, at least during race season, to be closer to shop. Maybe they'll make the trek to OH more but from Jeremy's article sounded like Dale was searching for an OH ride to supplement some of the larger OH races.

What does this mean for Stevie is he still with Fred or is he Retiring?
I WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED IF DALE AND JANET HOLBROOK PUT something together for Ohio and Western Pa. races since John and Pee Wee only go west for Knoxville and Lernerville, only Stevie ran Ohio Speedweek dont remember the last time the 1Z WAS AT THE KINGS ROYAL or the Doty.
Lucas even took the 5w to The Finals the last few years.

Good point about Janet Holbrook and Dale putting something together for some select OH and Western PA races. They already have the equipment.

I'm not 100% sure if this is correct but I think the last time the Zemco car was at Knoxville is when the jet was in the bad crash that ended his career. I remember seeing the car at the Royal quite a few years back too and I think Mark Smith was running it. He may have even put it in the A that night too. It was quite a while ago.... prolly 2005 or 2006?

The Zemco car goes to Knoxville every year, in fact started on the pole for the big show in '09, Stevie's first year in the car. I believe the last time at Eldora was with Mark Smith.

Lucas made the Nats in the Zemco car at least the last two years off top of my head and I believe in 2015 was the highest finishing Posse driver.

It's not correct. Zemco has been at Knoxville with Stevie, the Dude and Lucas since 2008.
