The extravaganza started off on the damp side- looked questionable at 11 but cleared out by 1pm & racing got started- Go carts ran the heats & featuree & the mechanics race then went to the big track for Midwest Modified heats. The Enduro cars actuall started the big track program off- Julie Scharping won the Powder puff enduro, then they ran the econos & the big car enduro. Then the 6 regular class 25 lap features- Sunny & warm by then- after regular features they ran the figure 8 25 lap feature the the mechanics races for the 6 regular classes & the endureo mechanics race, while the mechanic racers were being run the track personnell were getting the tires in the area for the final event of the demo- While traveling down the the Victory lane area- Between the the double front streach wall- the tractor with the rear boom snagged the flag stand with a flopping chain & tore it loose from the front fence-tore some post out-unpended the flagman-who caught himself upside down but did not fall- everyone was ok- tore wires off the PA system but were soon repaired. Races conluded at about 9:30. I had a finish report to post- But-you aint gonna believe this--While driving home -Still 70 degees outside- I had my drivers door window open about 5 inches & the report was laying rolled up on the dash of the truck over the speed ometer area & all of th sudden I heard it being sucked out the window- I went back & looked & also again on Sunday AM but could not find it- It was windy outside. I guess youll hav to read abiut it in the papers- See ya at the Races- Pat
