I listened to Brian Carter on Winged Nation yesterday, not much in the way of news but a couple of interesting tidbits:
- As far as scheduling goes, Jackson Nationals is the biggest add (we already knew about that one). Biggest change is that Calistoga 2 day show is going to move to the fall. Does that mean on Labor Day weekend?
- Format will probably stay the same but they are toying with the idea of having the dash drivers pick their positions out of a hat rather than rely on dash pill invert. Seeing how the LM and Mods did it in Charlotte, I think that's a good change as it makes it clearer to the fans who is starting where.

Doesn't the Louie Vermiel Classic go Labour Day weekend?

What does this do to the Pacific Northwest part of the tour? It always rains in early September in the Northwest. If they moved it back a week into late August after the Knoxville National the weather is mostly good.

I'm not sure which is why I was hoping someone had heard something. I guess we'll have to wait a bit longer.
Pure speculation, but here is how it could look after Knoxville:
Aug 18: River Cities
Aug 20: Nodak
Aug 25-26: Skagit
Grays Harbor and an Oregon show for mid week?
Sept 1-2: Calistoga
Sept 8-9: Chico
We'll know shortly.
Also, nice to see Dodge City got a 2 day show back, albeit in late October.

I've seen a lot of stupid shit happen over the years so I never say never but September 1-2 2017 is Labor Day Weekend and if they are even thinking about adding the WoO to or replacing the nonwing sprints / midgets that weekend it will shoot to the top of the list of the dumbest fucking things I've ever seen happen.

Nothing said about one problem WoO has, costs factors and car counts ? but I guess that may not be a problem that seems to be hurting local racing ? They force owners to keep spending more money to keep up with big teams .

October may be a good date for Dodge City. It's November and the forecast for this weekend is highs of 75 and 68. Next weekend, highs of 68 and 68.
I'd say it would beat the old dates with highs of 100+ and lows in the high 80's (at least for fans and competitors).
Moving it to October might help with car counts too, tracks that run 410's in the midwest are done racing at that point (River Cities, Huset's, Knoxville, Jackson). Outlaws may have more than 20 cars there for a change.
One thing I took from the interview is the Outlaws are working on EVENTS, as opposed to races. He talked about multiple day events in 2017 (3 and 4 day events). That is a very good deal for team owners, just as many races, but less travel (which means less expenses).

Looks like Calistoga will be Sept 15-16, so they'll be out there an extra week on the west coast.
