No official word on how this will effect speedweeks or if it's just for the races after speedweek races

Well, that sucks ass. That place was on my bucket list. Hopefully whatever is going wrong will get worked out and we'll see it open again soon. That said, I also hope this leads to the Winter Nationals deal maybe getting back in with East Bay. Not sure why it ever ended but there are very few tracks in the country more perfectly suited for sprint car racing. Always wanted to go there as well.

Wait...I thought the investors behind the outlaws bought this track and Lernerville a few years ago?

The "closure" of Volusia Speedway Park pertains to the weekly racing program only, and WILL NOT affect the running of DIRTcar Nationals in February. World Racing Group owns Volusia Speedway Park, and has leased it for weekly racing. The current promotional entity has decided to pull the plug on their efforts, but again, it has nothing to do with the February tradtional season kick-off.

Lernerville was sold last year to a local family.

It is owned by World Racing Group , it is tough to make a go of it in Florida for a weekly racing program . This is the new era coming in racing more and more , that more tracks will become special events tracks only . Volusia is just one track that operates during the winter months that have successful shows , just wish they would fix up this track more but then WRG really never updated any of there owned tracks that much .
