70'ish is my guess. WoO are typically racing that weekend, I believe, so I don't think that takes any cars. All Stars are racing that weekend, that will likely eliminate Lil' Haud, which I think is a bummer. You're right though, probably down a bit this year.

From the TC website, the following cars still show TBA for drivers:
ROTH MOTORSPORTS TBA 83JR
SILVA MOTOR SPT TBA 57
WILLIAMS RACING TBA 0k
ALAN KAISER TBA 4
BK RACING TBA 69
TBA NETTO RACING 88N
STEVE WATT ENT TBA 81
MIKE FARIA TBA 4
PETER MURPHY RAC. TBA 11
VANLARE TBA 5V
Locally, Walker, Becker (listed but TBA for car), Crockett and Trey Starks are free as drivers. For outside drivers, the mid-west (NSL/ Knoxville) and ASCS are finished racing. Pennsylvania has a light schedule as well with only one track running (Port Royal). El Wingador had posted in another thread that we had heard Ruetzel would be in the 83jr. Wouldn't mind seeing Lasoski or Brown finding a ride. Wayne Johnson would be another outstanding shoe to fill a seat. Also, I wonder if James McFadden will still be in country?

Maximum 80 entries due to 11 pm curfew mandated at California fairgrounds tracks.

Believe they get 5 exemptions per year on that curfew.

I believe they ran around 110 one year and it was just to many cars to qualify and race in a single night. I think 70ish is a magic number myself.

I think the largest field ever was 104, the year it became a 360 race. Can you name the driver that dominated that year?

1994 was the first year and it was a one day 410 race, which meant running two main events. A 50 car field appeared, led in qualifying by Ronnie Day. Day won the first main followed by Randy Tiner, Tim Green, Brent Kaeding and Kevin Pylant. Those 5 were at the back of the pack for main event 2 and Day finished 7th to win the Cup title. The 2nd main was won by Rick Martin from 15th starting.
