Wondering what the weather is looking like for Knoxville this weekend? Here in Sioux Falls its a fraking mess. Hate to miss the LM Nats as its my fave show of the season but hate a wasted weekend too.

Updates from Central Iowans would be much appreciated.

Looks like tonight might be alright as the system kind of slowed down so it might not rain till after 10 PM. We all know Kendra should be able to run the show quick if threatening weather is approaching. This rain carries over till maybe noon Friday. Looks mostly dry Friday noon through the weekend. The rain should be heavy so the Friday show is probably going to be the hardest to get in. Maybe a late start should be expected I am not sure. Just like Nationals looked wet for the Sprints and didn't have a single rain out, this one could be the same but absolutely no promises since it seems to rain here with little to no chance in the forecast.

Billy Moyer took the 25 lap Prelim Feature.  A Main Checkered flag at 10:04 PM after time trials (68 cars), 6 heats, 10 lap D main, 12 lap C and 15 Lap B.

Show was ran extremely fast with weather in the area (and even with a Red Flag or two).

Wouldn't be surprised if tonight runs off in similar fashion.  Some of the Fans around me seemed amazed that you could run a show in that amount of time.

Track was excellent, just like always.

Thanks for the updates Vande. How was the crowd? How was the racing? Anybody say why Bloomquist isn't there?

Crowd was maybe just under 50% full on the front streth stands only. Racing was decent. A couple of pretty good heats but the A main was a runaway. Mr. Smooth was just that. A couple of times 2nd got closer too him but he would pick it back up and made it through traffic really well. Looked like his team was giving him signals coming off of 4 on the distance to 2nd. Its not that the track wasn't good and racey cause it was, but Moyer was just the class of the field. Like Vande said it was a well ran show. Very quick which I expected nothing less from the gang there at Knoxville with it lightning to the North all night. Kudos to the track. Rumors on Bloomquist was that he was running late and didn't leave the shop on time. So I'm guessing he was planning on missing Thursday and thought he could completely rely on his finish tonight for Saturday. Who knows though thats just speculation.

Donny struggled all night in timing and in his heat. He had laps where we looked good but his start was not great. I really didn't know what to expect from him. Looks like he would throw it in way too hard and work up the track. He got turned in his heat and called it a night not running any mains. Interesting to watch since I am not used to seeing Donny struggle anywhere. Overall it was a good night. First time I had been to the Late Model Nationals. Still feel like I'd rather be watching Sprints! I'll probably head to US36 for the NSL/Outlaw show Saturday.

I'd say probably 3500-4000 range.  Still campers pulling into town when I walked across hwy 14 on the way home.

Racing was great (especially heat races).  Felt like Moyer was holding back while in the lead and when someone got close he could pull away.

They said Bloomquist was running late (seems to be a pattern the past few weeks from the crowd around me).  Big gamble given the forecast early in the week.  Wonder if Lucas Officials will enforce the rule on the Entry form that you MUST RACE on Thursday and won't allow a Provisional because he didn't.
