Can't say it's surprising news. Two cars has to be quite costly to run.
Also, might want to reword the title if possible. Right now it could be interpreted that Big Game is dropping its sponsorship down to the CJB 5, leaving the Dude and Blaney without sponsorship. The post clears up that it's CJB going to one car.

I think the title is clear . That Big Game is to sponsor CJB Tbrought 2018
then that CJB will be going down to 1 car, Not That Big Game will be going down to 1 car!
Hope it helps clarify things a bit.
Big Game is lucky to have Gravel and Gravel is lucky to have Muddy til 2018

So what I'm wondering is, does this end Sammy's season? I thought he had a few more on his schedule..
It was cool to see him win one more at Lebanon Valley

When I edited the title to make sure it was clear, I deleted the actual post for some reason. Ooops.

The rumblings from various sources are that he has something in the works for the Natty Open and the other remaining races on his schedule. I hope we hear soon, I'm very curious.

So the CJB #1 is done, effective immediately? I'm confused by the vagueness of the wording. I get that it will be a one car team next year, but the remainder of this year is erased off of the #1 team's schedule as well?

Rumblings the last few weeks at Knoxville were that the Muddy #2 will have a driver change for 2017 (and BIG NEWS for Lasoski for 2017-2019)....

Any time you try to edit on Hoseheads, its deleted. You have to copy it first & then "re-paste" it in....

Yea, that post makes it sound like he's through immediately, at least with CJB
But its confusing. Not sure how often they update schedule on Sammy's website, but it still lists several races for this year, including Nite before 4 Crown, WG National Open & WoO World Finals in Charlotte.
I hope he keeps racing this year. It would be cool if he went out in a blaze of glory like Fast Freddy at WG Nationals

I think something is in the works but can't be announced. That's the feeling I get. Normally when he ended up not running certain races this year they immediately pulled them off his website schedule. The Natty Open and others are still on and they've updated his site within the past 24 hours so....... Hopefully he has a ride for those races.

I would love to see someone bring him in for the Trophy Cup.
