Who can we expect outside the top 14 in points in a state with zero full time 410 drivers and only a small handful of 360s?
I am expecting a very dry slick track on Weds, the 305s turned it into a huffy pole skating rink on Sat and they only had 9 cars.

Per a press release from the track....
While 410 sprint car racing has been absent from the track in recent years, several local standouts are expected to make a play against the Outlaws, including local driver Jeff Heffner (a Knoxville 360 regular) and Justin Wolf Medlock (an ASCS local). Jeremy McCune, from Billings, Mont., has committed to going and is bringing up to four other cars with him. And word has it a couple of cars are coming from Wyoming will participate as well.

Brain Brown has it on his schedule for the week. Never rule out a team like Ian Madsen. They have showed time and time again that they are not afraid of doing a little traveling and racing anywhere against the best of the best.

I have not seen that press release before. Even though I always take these sort of things with a giant grain of salt, it is encouraging. I had figured on 18 cars, maybe a full field is possible.

I live about 10 mins away from the track just outside of Co Springs, only been to the track 3 times. Each race was pretty much follow the leader, granted they are 305s. I'm planning on going to this one tho..

I went to that track once, total follow the leader. Sorry to be negative, I live in Denver & was thinking about going, but decided to stay back East with 93 (94 soon!) yr.old Mom a couple more weeks & hit 4 Crown & WG National Open...
I hope its good...Colorado needs it!

As of 4 today KCP racing which is Ian Madsens team tweeted just 2 outlaw events. Spencer and US36. So there is some conflicting info there. But as I said earlier that team travels well. They could race anywhere.

LoL, 4 Crown wins every time.
I have been 5 or 6 times to El Paso, ring around the huggy pole every time. It was so dryslick for the last RMMA show of 2015 that he actually watered the track during an early YELLOW flag.

Ya that reminds me to ask, does the WOO bring their own track prep crew or no? Seems stupid if they do just wondering.

I doubt it, but for Calhan, they should.
In all due respect to local track crew, Colorado plains are a very dry & dusty place, soil probably nothing like Pennsyltucky clay or Iowa riverbottom gumbo...

I agree but it's kind of a slippery slope. When the WOO not knowing how each track takes prep. In this case, ya hand the keys over to the woo if they could, can't be any worse. Coming from the Midwest to Co, I'd say dry and sandy makes for hard track prep.

The SLS Promotions tweet regarding Brown, Lasoski etc was in relation to the upcoming meetings at Clay County Fair & US 36 Speedway, not the Colorado show.

They have good clay down there, just put a bunch on to reshape T4 and FS. They also have a promoter/track prep guy who thinks dry slick skating rinks make for good racing. I have seen a sheepsfoot parked off of the backstretch, but I have never seen sheepsfoot marks in the track.

If I'm not mistaken, the last winged 410 sprint show in Colorado was a WoO show at Rocky Mountain National Speedway in maybe 1993 or 94', but all the locals were 360's by then. The last winged 410 (1991 or 92'?) sprint show for local guys only had 6 cars. Jim Starr did a good job with the ASCS Rocky Mountain Region, for a few years. But when Rocky Mountain closed in 2006 or 07' it was pretty much all over. As far as I know (all my racing buddies are still in Colorado, I was born and raised there but moved out in 2004), it's been winged 305's loosly tied in with Rick Salem's USSR group based in Kansas. IF, there is a 410, or 360 laying around in Colorado, it's been sitting for some time. As a long time member and competitor with the RMMRA midgets, I saw almost every WoO show ever held in Colorado, as we used to split with the WoO every 4th of July weedkend at the late George Butland's Colorado National Speedway, which has since been paved (1989), and ruined.

I was living in the mountains for 14 yrs. & used to see ads in the paper for midget races in Denver. I could kick myself for never going. Moved to Denver in '94. no more midgets.... if you want to do something, do it now! Time & tide wait for no man......

Going to head over there and see what the car count looks like, I'm expecting low but we'll see.

My prediction is 18 WoO, 14 RMMRA and who cares for the other support class.
