I didn't watch the NASCAR race last night, but saw highlights of the crash between Newman and Stewart at Richmond. After reading through Newman's comments after the incident, I have lost a ton of respect for him. It's one thing to be frustrated, it's another to back hand reference the incident with Kevin Ward. Especially coming from one sprint car guy to another, just an absolute low class move on his part. Link to the comments below.
By the way, when was the last time Ryan Newman was relevant? Sounds pretty stupid calling Stewart someone who should've already been retired. I couldn't tell you the last time Newman won anything.

I don't think you are completely out-of-line with those thoughts, but I do slightly disagree. I was suprised of some of the stuff Ryan said, but keep in mind Tony's actions on the track to intentially wreck Newman (which he admitted) for all practical purposes ended Ryan's season by not making the chase. Tony has never bit his tongue when it comes to comments about other drivers in the heat of the moment, so why should Ryan? It will all blow over, it isn't that big of a deal. I think if Newman was privy to what had happened earlier in the night at Eldora he may of not gone quite so far down the rabbit hole against Tony, but it is what it is. They'll be fine.

Two weeks in a row he intentionally tore up a bunch of cars. What a stand up guy your Hero Tony is.

Not only did he end Ryan's hope for the "Chase", he may have cost Newman is ride with Childress.

As it turned out, Newman's only chance of making the chase was to win last night's race. He was not running up front and was not going to win that race unless he wrecked every guy in front of him, which the way Newman races may have been his plan. Frustrated sure. But those saying Tony cost him a spot in the Chase are fibbing just a bit.
Newman races with the widest car on the track and has a battering ram for a front bumper. His comments are the pot calling the kettle black. The differnce is Newman is a nobody. Has never been a somebody. Probably the biggest ass in the garage other than the Penske drivers.
BTW, what Stewart did last week and this week were both dick moves. But Newman's comments were a disgrace to himself more than anything. He should watch how Brian Scott handled it last week and learn from him.

Newman's chase was already over, he had 26races to clinch a spot in chase. I personally hate Newman he has always been a cry baby and hasnt been relevant for well over 5years. He took a pretty low blow with several comments towards Stewart and I hope he gets put in the wall. With his losing ride at Childress comment, he won't be let go because he didnt make the chase, the hole company is garbage hes just the cry baby turd of the group.

10 minutes after Ryan said what he said, he probably cringed at the thought of what he said--not that its a free pass for saying what he said.
Tony has been very unforgiving the last two weeks. That being said, Ryan Newman is known as "the most difficult guy to pass" by ALL of the drivers in the garage. I don't think any of those guys have a lot of patience for his wide car. I didn't see anything terribly wrong with what Newman did in that moment, but it may have been a culmination of events.

Also losing his ride has nothing to do with missing the chase but due to his overall performance as a whole. He does not have 1 victory with Childress dispite him making the chase the past two seasons. Yes i know he finished "2nd" overall 2years ago in the standing but that stat is a bit scewed due to the stupid chase. They have been at best a 15th place car but because 16 now get taken for the chase. He basically ran into Larson and leaned on him to make the final round 2years ago, not to mention everyone calls him the hardest driver to pass no matter what lap. He is a typical driver though and most of them in Nascar are all the same, act like a saint whenever someone runs into them as if they have never done anything wrong but if they run into some body it wasn't there fault.
As for his comments, I'm not surprised as its typical for his character too and I doubt Tony really cares. As Tony said, he will get his wish in 10wks when Tony leaves them for good. They were below the belt and I'm sure that he was released from Stewart Haas a few years ago to make room for Harvick, Danica and then Busch after the fact, had nothing to do with it. I'm sure he probably has a chip on his shoulder about that as well.

not sure, never met Tony Stewart but to say he's bipolar and to indirectly bring up Kevin ward incident is pretty shity to do.

Tony handled it very well, even said he's a good driver and will win a Championship someday. Not sure what Tony might have said after he heard those comments from the snow plow driver but he may not have been as kind to him.....

If I walk up to someone that is fat and ugly, and say "your fat and ugly", I have broken no laws and told no lies. But, I think that would be an ass-holish thing to do.
Newman broke no laws, has the freedom of speech, and probably told no lies. Probably better off just thinking that one though and not saying it.

Based on what Newman had to say about Tony would lead one to believe that there was more to his release from SHR than the lack of sponsorship. They both claimed it was congenial, but??

Cubes, come on! I remember about a dozen years or so ago we used to exchange emails, heck we almost met at the Grove one night but you backed out, which was fine. But other than the Posse stuff which we both exaggerate to make our points we have a lot of things in common, although I'm not as anti Chinaman, maybe, lol....

I don't think any logical person (which are few and far between) would think that Tony wanted the Kevin Ward incident to end up how it did, but we all saw him gas it, most likely just trying to spook the kid that was racing a Nascar champ and wanted to make a scene (nevermind the dope). And as Ryan pointed out, if you youtube Tony Stewart, there are plenty of other hot headed incidents outside of Kevin Ward, and even outside of dirt racing. He's made an ass of himself every opportunity he has, but thinks that signing a door panel or donating money to a good cause erases how big of an asshole he is.
