WORLD OF OUTLAWS RETURN TO BMS FOR 2017
Other Special Announcements
BRANDON, SD, Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016 – The famed World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series will return to Badlands Motor Speedway for a huge two-day show on July 4th weekend in 2017. The stars and cars of the WoO, which includes drivers such as Donny Schatz, Joey Saldana, Daryn Pittman and Brad Sweet, will invade BMS on Saturday, July 1 and Sunday, July 2.
Just like earlier this season, the WoO event will feature a massive fireworks show at the end of each racing night. Both nights will be regular racing events for BMS with all of the regular support classes, which will make for a monster two-day racing extravaganza.
Also, just like the WoO’s visit in 2016, the track will be putting up extra money for the BMS regulars to topple the WoO drivers. BMS owner Chuck Brennan is offering up an additional $5,000 for any “Non-Outlaw” driver to win either night. Any “Non-Outlaw” that places 2nd-5th will receive an extra $1,000 bonus. Further, all 410 Sprint Car teams who pit in the infield will receive an extra $250 per night.
MUCH MORE TO COME IN 2017
The 2017 season kicks off on Saturday, May 13 with the Second Annual Silver Shootout. As it was in 2016 to begin the BMS era, all drivers will be paid out in 500 10-ounce Silver Bars that have already been purchased, worth $100,000 right now, and could be worth much more by May.
The $250,000 Rock N Roll Gold Cup also returns in 2017 on July 28-29, but next year adds a special twist for the support class. Friday, July 28 will be the qualifying night for both the winged and non-winged Sprint Cars. Saturday, July 29 will be the championship for both the winged and non-winged Sprint Cars. The non-winged portion of the Gold Cup will again be sanctioned by the United States Automobile Club (USAC). The non-winged races at this year’s Gold Cup were met with huge success, and USAC will be doing double-duty next season as the National Midget Series will be the support class both nights next season. Both the USAC Sprint Cars and Midgets will be National points races.
Finally, Brennan has added another level of excitement to the regular Saturday night programs in 2017, called “Chuck’s Challenge.” Saturday nights will feature all Sprint Car racing with 410, 360 and 305 Sprint Cars all competing on the same night. Here’s the kicker: Any driver who can win two of the three A-Main events in one night will receive a bonus of $5,000. Should someone sweep the night and win all three A-Main events, and it’s a cool $25,000 bonus.
BMS will continue to race both Saturday and Sunday nights in 2017 with Sunday continuing to be Half Price Family Night. Sunday night’s program will be announced at a later date, and will feature the popular bodied cars in this area.

Getting the midgets there will make a good show that much better assuming the car count is decent. I hope there is more winged support next year and frankly just hope they get the woo to sanction the race.

I can totally agree with that. Some of his moves in my opinion, haven't been the right ones but he definitely isn't just sitting on his thumbs. Right or wrong, he's making shit happen.

One thing the promoter has done is bring attention to BMS.Good or bad we all know what is happening there. Now if he can settle his differences with Jackson and Knoxville everyone will be a winner.Egos of people that have extra money sometimes get in the way of common sense.Big Game has two cars that put seats in the stands where ever they run.The extra purse has helped sprint car racing but there still arent enough teams to make full quality fields ever.Knoxville is sacred to many and challenging them and their tradition is a tough battle to win.It appears Knoxville has a new gal that listens and has improved their program.WOO is still the big draw in Spints even though they only have 5 of the top 10 overall drivers.

No sprint cars on Sundays will probably mean no fans either.

I think the changes to the R&RGC both in date and format are great. Will get more teams and fans by moving before 360 Nationals. Adding Midgets is great. If they can get 410 car count to 40 or more and keep 30 plus USAC cars, plus midgets that will be a great 2 night event.
Also think the bonus is awesome. To post that money every weekend you can't help but wonder if anyone will buy a 305 or look for a ride in all 3 classes. I will say I think it will be very difficult for anyone to do it. I think only about 6 drivers who run BMS could do it. But even if they all ran all 3 classes, the luck and fortun you have to have to win any class is tough, let alone 2 or 3. I think you might see maybe 2 or 3 drivers win two classes all year. I doubt you will see anyone sweep. Maybe once. Would be cool to watch drivers try. Can you imagine how hard any of those guys would race in the 410 A if they had already won the 305 and 360...?
Would think Henderson would try. Maybe Zomer, McCarl. Could see this change maybe being interesting for the Madsen brothers and maybe lure them away from Knoxville next year. I would also stay home if I was Clint Garner. He has nothing left to prove running Knoxville and probably loses significant money towing to Knoxville every week.
Knoxville better start figuring out how to build and attract more teams in Central, Southern, and Eastern Iowa. The days of getting a dozen cars from the Dakotas are probably over if BMS keeps this up. And you have to wonder when the MN guys will do the Jackson/BMS weekend instead of the Jackson/Knoxville weekend.

I don't think Garner will quit running at Knoxville. He's just so good there and they have their Parker deal. I don't think he'll quit that.

I want to give a shout out to BMS for televising the championship night. I was under the weather and didn't leave the house all weekend but was still able to see the race live as it was broadcast on FOX. I was really impressed with how well this was put together. It's still not being there but I appreciated it!

Look no further than the results page for April 23 of this year for Knoxville. There are 11 entries in the 410 and 360 ranks from ND or SD. That does not count a couple other ND/SD drivers you can find in the Knoxille results from 2015. It also does not count TMac, AMac, CMac, Jeffrey, or any other IA, NE, or MN driver who ran BMS this year instead of Knoxville.

'Not arguing, but.... In those results I see only:
SD: Justin Henderson Matt Juhl Dusty Zomer Clint Garner James Spires Adam Specman
ND Mark Dobmeier Lee Grosz
I'm counting 8 total. Spires and Speckman are from Rapid City- way out west. That's 680 miles from Knoxville.
