Another asz kicking by Schatz tonight.  Heat, Dash, Feature, 2nd in Latemodel but poor officiating or he'd have won that too.  The guy that won got plenty of booing during interview after he should have went to tail end twice when obviously his fault, or else us in stands are blind.

What a track!!   Zero dust all night, didn't even need sun glasses on during feature or heats.  The show ran quickly except for the first late model heat when must have been 4 or 5 cautions---in an 8 lap heat race.  Can't say enough about this place, standing room only again also.

I've said it before and will say it again!! If you're never seen a WoO race at this track? Don't know what your waiting for? Another bad ass night of racing! Thanks RCS!!

We usually make both dates when the WoO comes to this town, esp.  the one after,when it was a week behind the Knoxville Nationals but could not make it to either this year. We were disappointed.  Normally it is a better race than the Nationals at least 9 times out of 10 to watch, even though the quality/quanity of cars doesn't compare. We will definitely be back next year.

I go to River Cities during the regular season..Not so much this year because of mobility problems but remember going there when Jim Corcoran ran it..Since then Don Mack and his crew have got one of the best facitilies/racing venues in the USA..Wasn't it voted best place to withness racing in 2015?  Great show...

The speeds they reach on this little bullring are amazing, lots of slide jobs and some wheel stands coming out of 4. I'm lucky it's only a 2 hour drive from Winnipeg. I attend a half dozen shows a year here. Only thing I'd like to see is some new aluminum bleachers in the main covered grandstands. It gets a little tight up there during the big shows. I'll be attending my last race there in a couple of weeks. 50 plus lates for 92 laps at the John Seitz memorial, plus sprints and A mods. Don't matter the class of cars it's always a great show here.

How come your last race Canucklehead?

WoO needs to have a big event there, would be awesome to see the car counts if there was a 20k or so to win race.

Last race for this season for me. Wish racing season up north was as long as hockey season.

The speeds at River Cities speedway:  Jason Meyers set the record about 5 or 6 years ago after a lot of rain had fallen for two days.  The track was super fast.  The record:  9.26 seconds with average speed of 116mph on this 3/10th mile oval.  If I remember correctly, 8 or 9 cars surpassed the record.  Man, what traction that night.  Johnny G. must have said 4 or 5 times:  "we have a NEW track record".

That track isn't 3/10ths of a mile. In fact judging by the google satellite image I'd say its likely even smaller than a quarter mile. Basically 2/3rds of the track is a turn with the only non curved bit being the front straightaway. My kind of track mind you, just pointing out that the speeds being reported are actually not consistant with the true track size. I've learned long ago speed isn't at all what makes for good racing but small bullring tracks without a doubt produce the best racing.  I just went and used the measure tool in google maps and on inside berm its 1,145.06 ft almost 200 feet less than a quarter mile. 0.216 of a mile. Thats basically Ventura Speedway size and its a stated 1/5 mile. If you measure the track at the absolute cushion all the way around its about 1,450 ft. or 0.27 mile. So if Jason Meyers ran the bottom he averaged 88mph and if he ran the top he averaged 105mph. Either way it sounds like one hell of a racey little 1/5 mile track.

I've been using satellite imagy to measure all tracks on which the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series competes in 2016.  I measure (as closely as possible) at the mid point between the inside edge and outside edge of the racing surface.  River Cities came out at exactly .250, or 1/4 mile. 

It is an awesome track.  I only wish it weren't in such a remote location (as far as 410 racing goes) so that others could enjoy it more.

Also, calling it a bullring undersells it a bit.

Think of it instead as a Gravitron of dirt and smoke and metal.  When there are 20+ late models or sprints on it I can't think of anything else it better resembles.

Extrapolating the data I posted I came to the same conclusion. It's a fast, racey quarter mile. If only all sprint car tracks we're that good.

     Well, now I gotta ask.... what size do you come up with when you measure Eldora?

     Measuring Husets using the same criteria, I come up with about 1420 feet- about 100 feet more than River Cities. Husets though, is not your typical 17/64 mile track.

MY measurement for Eldora was .437, and for Badlands/Husets was .272
