So this year, we could only do Saturday... that was it. So we made the decision to make the nearly six hour drive each way just for the finals and boy was that a good decision. When we got there MRN's Winged Nation was set up outside the grandstand. This helped to get us ready for what turned out to be one of the best sprint car races that I personally have ever seen.
The interviews were all good... Tony Stewart talking about getting back in a car next year, trying to bring a few more winged races back to his home state. He was classic Tony for sure... then the interviews with Shane Stewart and Jason Johnson, soooo good especially in light of the fact that a few hours later Jason would when the thing. Wrapped it up with Johnson's post race interview and line that brought a roar from the crowd, "I know Donny was a litttle upset with me, but $!&# I wanted to win the thing!"
