Woohoo, great race, congratulations to Jason Johnson & team!
From little Eunice, Louisiana, hardly any other sprint cars as far as I know, but home to my favorite radio station, "Louisiana Proud" KBON 101.1

Hell yes!!!!! That was a perfect night at the races. Rarely is the A main the best night of the week. That was one of the best races I have ever seen for the lead. (Also loved the result)

Congrats to Jason Johnson , crew and wife Bobbi on a great win . Sounds as though it was one of the best Nationals in years and it also sounds like Jason used some of the Donny Schatz methods to win this race . A different winner is always a good thing for racing .

Based on a congratulatory tweet, I'd say Kistler.

The Rajin' Cajoun was born and raised in Louisiana but not lives in Rocky Mount, Missouri. So we still do not have a winner of the Knoxville Nationals from the state of Iowa, ever!
I need my memory jogged and someone on here likely knows off the top of his head - What years did Jason work on the crew of Steve Kinser's car? The first time I recall knowing about him was when he won a mini sprint race at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois. At that time Kraig Kinser was racing mini sprints so it was a good while ago.

& he's probably not Cajun, either. Otherwise his name would be something like Boudreau or Guidry.... but maybe His Mama is...
I wore a Jason "Ragin' Cajun" t-shirt to a Cajun Music fest down in Lafayette, La. one time & nobody said a word, except one guy who asked if I was in Jason's family. Its all about family down there
But Eunice is way cool, they know how to have fun on "da bayou"!

sprintfanatic: It's sometime in the mid-to-late 90s. He mentioned it in the Knoxville press conference after the race. I can't find the video at the moment.
Jason comes from Thibodeauxs & Rogers (that's Ro-zhay) too. Def got some Cajun blood in him! Throw in some Swedish & Coushatta indian heritage as well.
A lot of Cajuns don't have a clue about sprint car racing though. There IS 1 other sprint car team in Eunice, LA, revjimk... his cousin Ty Johnson drives a 305.

Thanks for the info... I knew there were a few teams on the Gulf Coast
There was also a guy (recently deceased) in New Orleans named Steve E (something, name escapes me) who used to own a USAC team in the 70s, wing & wingless, dirt & pavement, gave it up cause it cost too much (even back then). I know Steve & his wife Marilyn from dancing. They were gonna meet me at Knoxville Nats a couple of years ago but wimped. I suspect Marilyn feared it might prompt him to buy another sprint car!

Whenever I hear Ragin' Cajun I think of the fiddle player Doug Kershaw.

Yep, thats what they call him...
First saw him on the Johnny Cash TV show in summer of 1968, first show, when Cash sang with Bob Dylan (what a pair!)
Didn't know what to make of Kershaw, except that I dug it
