I thought the same for a $21,000 to win show. If it wasn't for the NSL it could have been really sorry looking. With that being said the quality of cars was second to none. The cars that were there were excellent.
I for one wasn't a fan of the open red. Did anyone else feel it really wasnt needed yet for refueling? JMO
Kerry Madsen made the night. He hit the RR off of the wall so many times passing guys on the outside when they were already running the high side of the track. The madman was just making room and making due with the track he had. A late yellow could have been interesting to see if Kerry had something for Pittman but Pittman looked dominant.

You might want to double-check the winner of heat #3 in your story...

I agree completely on Madsen. I was surprised he didn't flatten the right rear as many times as he bounced off the 1 and 2 wall. He was fun to watch.
Sweet was also making some hay there for a bit, and for a minute I thought he might have something for the top 3.
I also didn't understand the Red as well. I just kinda shrugged my shoulders and couldn't figure it out. Oh well.
Nice night of racing for sure.

And folks want the nationals to be 30 or 35 laps.... Unless the race is non stop, you're likely going to have to stop anyway...

That's the case every year at the FRC. Lots of cars in the area and "on paper" not a high car count for this show (though as someone else noted, it was a lot of high quality cars). The teams that travel to the area do so with one focus in mind - The Knoxville Nationals. Most teams A) don't want to take the chance and risk breaking, flipping, blowing a motor, etc. and B) are focusing their car, set-up, mindset, etc for the Nationals. Cory Eliason blew a motor at FRC and now is without one. He may not get to race The Nats bc he went to Osky. Brent Marks busted a rear-end, and it could've been a lot worse when he slipped over the edge at Osky. For most teams it's just not worth the risk, even with $21k to win.

Not neccesarily, you tune a motor track to track and even as the night progresses (how much/little fuel you give it ) they surely would have had it tuned differently for Osky than they would have for Knoxville....
Also the gear ratio would be differnt for Osky than Knoxville, causing a difference in RPMs and such.. so not automatic it would have poofed at Knoxville just because it poofed at Osky.

$21000 to win. But anyone know the rest of the payoff? What's it pay for 10th, 15th? What the B pays? Just wondering because I have never seen or heard the full payoff. If it drops off fast then that may be a reason for some not racing it.

For anyone who was there, what exactly happened with Brent? I heard it could've been very ugly.
