Just got home and seeing Clauson was involved in a nasty wreck at Belleville. Praying he's alright.  Does anyone have good news please.

Sounds like it was really bad. Belleville is the most bad ass dirt track on earth. There's no such thing as an easy crash at that place. Hoping to hear some positive news soon. Bryan is a hell of a good dude.

http://www.motorsports.com  is reporting his condition has been upgraded from "critical" to stable.  There has been no mention of the type or extent of his injuries.

If he doesn't race again this year, what he has been able to accomplish is nothing short of amazing.

After he flipped/rolled 10 times and was on his side, Ryan Greth hit him in the cage at full speed, about as bad a scenario as could have possibly played out

Im not on anybodys case at all here but with the flip and then setting in the middle of the track for a couple of seconds was the red lights on? One second in this deal could have made a big difference and l remember Knoxville used to have red lights above turn 3 kind of like christmas lights. But anyway my point is you cant have enough lights at a track to let drivers know whats going on. Its a bad deal all the way around this happened....lots of track officals and drivers are wondering what they could have done to prevent this today....they need our prayers too. Im sure everyone was doing the best they could at the time.

I hear you but see it just a split second different.  Bryan wasn't sitting for a couple of seconds.  Maybe a couple tenths of a second if that.   From a driver's experience, tavelling at over 100 mph in a sprint or midget into or through a turn you have to stay on the throttle at least partially to be able to steer the car.  The cars steer more with the rear tires than the front.  Getting off the throttle and on the brakes at that speed, particularly in a banked turn makes the car nearly uncontrollable as far as changing direction to react to Bryan's car coming down the track.  The car that hit Bryan was destined to pass through that spot on the track as a result of his momentum and path more or less about the time Bryan started flipping.   I agree that more lights are alway better.

sitting on the track for a couple seconds???  the car hadnt even come to a rest yet...i assume usac uses raceseivers.  usually someone is yelling in your ear the second there is a caution.   the distance you cover at bville in a second is a long ways. In the video the car u see at the bottom before the wreck had actually lost a wheel.  It was rolling down the frontstrech and he had come to a rest.  The caution was being or about to be thrown when BC made contact with the wall.  I have seen knoxville, eldora and some of the other historic half miles and avg speed wise they don't hold a candle to bville. Place is radical.  Anyone who has raced there knows its so fast its hard to pass and BC was running smooth up on top.  there is a reason there are 300 entries at the chili bowl nationals and 30ish at bville nationals.
