Have no idea why he doesn't already have one but I've decided the kid has reached the point that he needs a nickname. I now submit, after much careful thought, consideration, and observation, Sheldon " High Wire" Haudenschild.

I get what you're saying but Sheldon was definitely Most Improved Driver in 2015. Just carrying over that success to this year.

Someone came up with 'the mild child' (having everything to do with his mellow demeanor out of the car). I find that one very amusing. Not necessarily something I would print on a T-shirt, but it is fitting.

He has had a nickname the whole time he has been racing. "Little Haud". I always just figured that was it. We all know exactly who it when someone says Little Haud.

Why is a nickname even necessar?
most successful outlaw drivers( using them as an example) Don't need the hype of a nickname. Donny Daryn David Logan
Look at Saldana and Mcmahan good drivers with nicknames have been in this sport Forever In their 40s and NEVER won a Championship to Date!
its not in the name... The only good thing in a name are Tshirt Sales

I'm not sure anyone thinks its necessary. Just a fun topic to discuss.

I think we need to think about it in proper context. I'm thinking of when the outlaws qualify. Correct me if I'm wrong but its something like. "Onto the speedway now. Out of Wooster Ohio, driving the Triple X Chassis, Southern Pacific Farms machine its the "nickname" SHELDON HAUDENSCHLD!!!!'

I still think the original "high wire" works well there. I'd use it if I had a mic.
