So why did the total purse go down by 15k? Glad that it was a better purse than a normal race, but hardly adding to the prestige,

You mean from last year's total purse? No idea why on that account.
IMO 25k to win, 1200 to start makes for a pretty prestiguous race. That's a nice purse. For comparison's sake (from a strictly fiscal standpoint) the Brad Doty Classic pays 10k to win and 800 to start. The total purse for the Silver Cup is almost double the Brad Doty toal purse. I'm not picking on the Brad Doty, I literally just took one of the last few races (that wasn't part of the King's Royal) to do a comparison. Both races still have prestige.

Glad to hear start money is 1500 , it may come at a bad time after Kings Royal but it does have more potential . The good thing is now that this track has new life, new marketing , a owner who is making improvements , and a very racy track that can provide a better race then Williams Grove which only has prestige . With added money paid through the field , better marketing , it has a lot of potential for a WoO race . Bring in USAC TO LERNERVILLE AND MARKET THAT RACE , as non-wing racing is by far more exciting then WoO racing .

How about you get off of your lazy ass and actually do something? If you want a USAC race at Lernerville bad enough, get to work on securing some sponsors and pony up the cash to make it happen. I'm sure if you go to Lernerville with a proposal and the proper amount of money in hand, they'll listen. But you won't do that will you? You'd rather just bitch about it and put down other tracks in the process. Oh yeah, you'll set up your table and stand behind it a couple times a year at Port and Susky. That's ok. Your loss. Most people will be at the Grove this weekend watching great racing courtesy of some of the best drivers in the business having a great time while you're sitting at home pissed off because certain tracks wanted you to pay a vendors fee to set up your table 15 years ago.

Just when you thought he was gone, Altman is back with his Woo and Williamsgrove suck post, disguised as a positive post about Lernerville and the Silver cup. Great to hear from you Robert!

Perhaps, don't know the dude, but I don't think anyone that's sane and been to both tracks would argue that the racing at Williams Grove is even close to that of Lernerville. Cut down those straights, add some width and banking to the track and you'll see much better racing. Get into the 20th century. Paper clip half-miles are obsolete.
