Heading out tomorrow morning for the Royal. Never been to Eldora before. Kind of a last minute deal. I want to buy reserved tickets ahead of time and need some advice. Can you see the whole track (turn 2, backstretch, turn 3) from the bottom section of the grandstands on the front stretch or am I better off ordering seats in the bleachers up on the hill in turn 4? I want to be able to see as much of the track as possible without having to look at the screens.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Bottom section of the grandstands, no, the haulers will block your view of the backstretch and turns 2 & 3.
Try to find something in the bleachers above turns 2-3, or 3-4 and you will be able to see everything but inside the womens restroom. Or bring a lawnchair and find a spot on the hillside. Lots of options.

Hey sap ol' friend, what did you think of the show last night? Personally, I don't like seeing fast cars start in the front row, all 8 races were won last night from the front row and the Eldora coverage spent wayyy tooo much time on the leader when Johnny was talking about sliders etc behind him in the field. Thoughts.....????

Are you saying I'm not the only one who thinks the new outlaw format is S T U P I D?

Agree with you on both issues.....The WoO organization of course continues to adjust rules etc....so the Platinum drivers have the upper hand and usually the advantage. As for PPV camera work at sprint car races, and it doesn't seem to matter which provider, there is always way too much camera work on the leader....even when he's way out front....and even on the last lap when there is racing for position going on elsewhere. Often times after the leader goes by, that's it for coverage, the camera locks in on the flag stand. I wonder if the camera people have ear phones and are getting any kind of direction?

Had they not been focusing on the leader you probably wouldn't have seen your buddy Sammy all night until the fast guys put him a lap down :-)....

the lawn chair seating on the grass is by far the best. turn two for the lack of dust would be my choice. we were sitting on the grass in three...goggles and bandana for dust mask. the grandstands are great but no breeze of sorts...
all of the seating is good imo, enjoy

NWFAN, the dust must have been real bad in your area or the beer real good because Jac Haud won the C from the Pole and Sammy won the B from the same place, it happened all night long....

I'm actually impressed with the Outlaws format personally. Wasnt a fan when they announced it, but the racing itself has been pretty good most everywhere from what I've seen. Wasnt it just last weekend the top three all came from the back? I dont get wrapped up in feeling bad someone started close to the front and finished there. Especially when guys can get runs and make moves, which seems to be more the case the past couple years for whatever reason. JMO

You must have missed brownie time about 22nd overall (11th in his flight) and make great moves to get into 2nd in his heat and 2nd in the dash. I can't speak for the broadcast, but I enjoyed it being there last night. Eldora is incredible.

The format is horrible, fast cars to the front, boring! USAC inverts 8 or so and even the heats are often pass fests. What's the 2 best night of racing all year in virtually everyone's opinion, Knoxville Wed & Thurs at the Nationals when they invert 8. Eldora has had 19 races the last two nights and almost everyone was won off the front row, watch what happens tonite when they invert 5 and then tell me which is better for the fan......
