If Sunday were needed, do they typically start early in the day or is it still an evening race? I'll stay regardless. I'm taking my son & a friend of his so I want to give the parents a heads up if we have a late return on Sunday night/Monday morning. Coming from Springfield IL area so a Sunday evening race would make for a short night before work on Monday.

I think the last time it got rained out, they ran it late afternoon Sunday.
Keep in mind, last year they finished at 4am so they'll do what they can to get it in if possible.

Can't answer your original question but knock on wood, so far weather doesnt look to be a huge concern. From National Weather Service site:
Thursday Night
A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 7pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Friday
Mostly sunny, with a high near 81.
Friday Night
Partly cloudy, with a low around 64.
Saturday
Partly sunny, with a high near 83.
Saturday Night
Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66.
Sunday
Partly sunny, with a high near 84.

It's been pretty dry here this summer. I'd be suprised if rain was much of a factor.

I'd say they will do anything to get it in on Saturday as they already have a short turn-around time before the Truck Race on Wednesday of next week.
