Since someone brought up a national race for the Racesaver Sprints, I thought I would remind every one about a little race we hold at Eagle Raceway every fall.

The annual get-together known as the Racesaver IMCA Sprint Nationals is scheduled for September 2nd through the 4th, with a practice night on September 1st. Pre-race teching will also begin on September 1st, in order to ensure that all cars are legal and ready to rock once the actual racing begins.

Although the A Features both Friday and Saturday nights retain the same payout ($700 to win and $250 to start), the purse for the Big Dance on Sunday has been raised to $2500 to win and $1250 to start.

Last year a total of 92 teams participated, and this year we are hoping to top the 100 entry mark!! At last count, the pre-entry list was at 76 cars, so we are well on our way to that century plateau!!!

For further information, visit http://www.racesaver.com/2016/02/23/2016-racesaver-imca-sprint-nationals-bigger-and-better/

See you all in September!!

I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks
anywhere.

There's know reason Knoxville can't do something like this, Run it on a weekend with the 410 cars, have a 305 nationals pay 2500 to win, mite get 100 cars , also mite take alittle pressure off the 410 classes poor car count to.

Off of the top of my head, you aren't going to get 100+ cars to travel from all over the country twice a season.

Secondly, the Knoxville rules are vastly different from the Racesaver rules if I'm not mistaken.

Knoxville rules are more wide open. That's why, as I've been told by some people at the Knoxville track, that there is at least one $45,000 engine running in the 305 class.

Rules......That's the key point here......there are over 1000 sets of registered Racesaver 305 heads and engines.......unified rules, with STRICT tech every week, and the class and sanctioned tracks/series are nationwide, and growing yearly..........Knoxvile's "open" (for lack of a better term) ruled 305's have a base of what...25-30 cars?.....there are plenty of other 305 tracks, but the rules are splintered and not the same from track to track and if here won't be a level playing field, why make the trip?..........When they have the 410 nationals, they ALL have the same 410 rules......At the Racesaver 305 Nats, every car is teched before turning a wheel, even on the Thursday practice night........we had close to 120 pre-entered last year (although we lost a few by attrition, and maybe the fact that there was no charge for pre entry before a deadline, but there were still 92 cars from 17 states (up from 54 cars from 12 states the first year)  in attendance, and there are MANY new tracks and cars expected to be represented in 2016.....from what I've heard, there are over 80 pre-registered cars already and we should easily top the 100 mark........$2500 to win, $1250 to start the A, $450 tow for anyone attempting to qualify all three days, plus a $1000 to win bonus Race of Champions on Saturday night........Eagle Raceway is Johnny Gibson's # 2 pick in his top 25  "raciest" tracks in the US list.........and with the parody in the engine department,  the Racesaver's put on a great show on the high banked third mile........the Racesaver track record is just  .67 seconds off the ASCS 360 mark.......add to that fact,  the fastest 27 start the A main 3 wide........Might want to think about two racing vacations this year and add Labor Day weekend in Nebraska to your plans........It's more than a race, it's an "Event".....don't miss the 4th Annual Racesaver IMCA Sprint Car Nationals.......September 1-4 (5th-rain date)  at "America's Home track"  Eagle Raceway............................SC

It just makes me chuckle on what could've been if the Nebraska Cup and eagle nationals were promoted like these 305 nationals are.

Yes I understand that .but there is still know reason Knoxville can't hold a 305 national event, a week ago chris walraven has leading the points with a create motor.  but never mind all that's? There is 15 of them racing Iowa state fair on Friday, if someone was a promoter around here. they go to that motor. Both tracks run the same rules in a perfect world. Knoxville can have a champ.Iowa fair can have a champ, and during that national show we can crown a state champ. Also you get 20 cars Knox,15 to 17 car fair,Thats close to 40 cars there, And pay 2,000 to 3,000 to win. Mite get 15 to 20 more If it's a 2 Day show that's all,But it sounds better then the same old 2 heats and a main. That go's on each week as the car count drop. There are times when a track has to change it up, breath new life. Take a chance.

Rules can cost money or save money.IMHO the ASCS allowing heads to be reworked cost money.Knoxvilles 305s rules let the motors cost too much compared to RaceSaver or crate motors. The WOO motors cost too much and make every racer spend the same money to be competitive and qualifying is where the power makes most difference as usually the feature laps are about the same as 305s qualifing laps.Everybody who doesnt beleive TC doped tires are larger displacement engines show up once in awhile but usually not in winning cars are dreamers. The Racesaver is a great idea just dont let the racers change the rules to make them faster.A second or two doesnt make much difference if cars are equal. You cant stop people from spending money and that will never change. For every team that breaks even there are 20 or more that dont.Put Sammy ,Steve,Haud,Lasoski,Sweet,Saldana,T-Mac ,Blaney in 305 Racesavers and it would still be a good race. The $5/10K to win isnt as important as the $1000 to start for 75% of the racers.Due the math on engines and if it wasnt for sponsers it would be tough to breakeven.T-shirt sales make as much or more than their share of purse.

with knoxville  allowing crate motors to be used in 305 class  and i believe i read racesaver motors maybe knoxville is changing over to the racesaver rules slowly . doing so will give 305 teams currently  running regular knoxville motor s time to switch over .  knoxville, 34 raceway, and jacksonville speedway all run their rules close to the same and i believe all three tracks have had a hard time growing the 305 class at their tracks. where tracks that run racesaver rules seem to grow their 305 class quicker, like eagle raceway, bloomington raceway, and others. i mean eagle had good car counts pretty fast i believe and bloomington is into their second or third year and already averaging 15 to 16 cars weekly.
