noticed that "Cancer Centers of America" on Clausons car has gone missing and no mention of it has been made by the announcers. Did he lose sponsorship? Or was this just a temporary deal?
Please forgive me if the name of the Cancer treatment place is wrong.

HA, I noticed the same thing and thought either "wow you pay too much attewntion to things" or "boy is it weird the first I thought when I saw the wing panel in PA was the sponsorship is gone." Glad someone else noticed. No idea the reasoning. Thought it was a new top wing, but the rest of the decals are there.

Sponsorship decal was on the wing at the Grove. Crew removed it before hot laps at Lincoln the following night. Haven't read anything about him loosing sponsorship.

Hmmm...do they literally remove the decal or did they use a new top wing? Looked like a new un-decaled front wing too.

Sounds like the sponsor stopped sending a check.

Sweet also had a similar medical-type sponsor that didn't make a ton of sense given the audience for sprint car racing. I think they also stopped making payments or ended the partnership early w/ KKR.

The Cancer Treatment Centers (CTC) does make sense as a sponsor...a bit. Follow me here. To start, forgive me for "pigeon-holing" a group of people/consumers, but as marketers you segment an audience to find a profile that fits your intended target/goals. A couple types of people seek out help from the CTC - 1. People who have exhausted other "real" medical options and are just about out of hope and are looking for any kind of help (as sad of a situation as there gets). 2. People who may not be that versed on the medical field/medical community and who are (again, forgive me for pigeonholing) by and large more likely to buy into the "marketing" from a company such as CTC (that is, instead of questioning the actual medical expertise/knowledge, etc. they see rainbows and sprinkles). These people also may not be exposed or otherwise have access to traditional medical care. CTC sees sprint car fans (and racing fans in general) in the #2 category above.
I see that as preying on a group of people who may not pocess the cognitive know how to smell out a snake oil salesman. They see it as smart marketing. Either way i cna see how they make sense as a sponsor.
Again, I'm not making these claims or saying anything about a certain group of people (a group I belong to). Just saying that's how marketing folks see market/audience segmentation.
