This year will be my first Kings Royal. Does Eldora typically release a pre entry list for this race? I've been to several big late model races there & they release a list of names as entries come in. I like to "study up" on cars I haven't seen before and I'm sure there will be several that fall into that category at this event. Any guesses on how many cars it will draw?
PS - After watching the Wild Child on Saturday, I hope he is in the 59 car.

With the new 3 day format and increased purse, I know they are hoping for more than the usual 45-50 cars the Royal usually draws. I believe it's show up points for both the WoO and All Stars, so that should ensure a healthy car count on that alone.
I don't remember seeing an entry list like Knoxville does for the Nationals, but we'll see if they put one out.

Obviously you can count on all the WoO and guys doing the full time all star deal. See below for more than likely guys that will be there.. the tricky thing is how many low budget teams will try and run all 3 notes and the local ohio teams that will show up. Regardless it is gonna be a great three notes at Eldora. Would also recommend the Doty on Tuesday at Attica as well.

Also, am I correct in that there is no connection between Thursday/Friday performance & Saturday lineups? For the late model shows they use performance from prelim nights to set heat lineups for Saturday. I've seen the Kings Royal on tv/internet a few times & as I recall, Saturday is a separate show with no carryover or provisionals from prelim nights. This would allow guys to show up for just Saturday if they wanted.
Also, do they add WoO provisionals to the field? I'm thinking not but just wondered.
Thanks for the info. I'm looking forward to it.

Correct, Thursday and Friday have no connection with Saturday's line up. Saturday is just a different format but the only question is if the heats will be inverted or not since the WoO have been lining heat races straight up based on qualifying. Usually the heats were inverted with the top 3 advancing to the feature and lined up based on their finishing position. Winner of heat race 1 would start 6th, heat race 2 starts 5th, and so on. Typically the field starts just 24cars but I think I remember Joey Saldana using a provisional a couple of years ago.

57 cars last year. I would imagine Kings Royal has over 60 this year. Knoxville is non-points that saturday night. Clauson is planning on running and last i saw Brian Brown is planning on making the trip out.
Last i had heard it will be Kings Royal format on Saturday.

Since Saturday is show-up points Eldora can run whatever format they want.

The top 2 in time trials that dont qualify through heats start 19th and 20th.
To my knowledge, the Royal doesn't give provisionals.

Thats correct....... And your front row of your heats are 13 through 24 in qualifying so qualifying good dont payoff in this race even if your the top 2 that dont transfer they start 19 and 20 In the a-main and you have no shot at winning from there unless it became a tire war and then you could get lucky. My only ? Is will the outlaws have the qualifying where they reset it after half the field like they have been or will the format stay as it has from its conception? To me its a lottery race and the fastest car does not win the royal typically. Its a fun race but emphasis is on those heat races bigger then most races. Lots of luck has to play into things for you to have a real chance at winning cause like I said a guy can come and be fast all he wants but if he finishes 3rd and transfers through the heat he is rewarded with a non favorable chance at winning the race cause those 3rd place finishers start 13 through 18 and are typically and most likely done.

Shane Stewart qualified 2nd quick last year, finished 3rd in heat and won it from 14th (wasn't a tire war race)...Sammy, Haud, Johnson and others were moving through the field very well too, awesome show in weeeeeee hours of the morning.
Kerry Madsen Fast time in 2014, 2nd in heat and won it from 7th. You can qualify well and still win it obviously... great race, great event every year (2-3 "tire wars") in over 25 years, I'll take those odds that it will be a helluva race again that anyone can win, regardless of where they start.

PA cars confired are Ryan Smith, Brent Marks and Hodnett. Also 305 driver Justin Barger I heard is putting in a 410!

I hope the rest of your post is correct because as far as I know Barger never ran a 305, he started racing in Pa in a 410 and has since aquired a 360 or 2 so he can race with the URC, ESS, Patriots.

Im not sure when the last time they had 65, if ever. Someone else may know that answer. Besides the Outlaws, and All Star guys, and the KR normal, Brown, Scelzi, Clauson, and Baughman I know will be there. Still wondering about Malsam, heard he was running the Doty and not sure after that.
