There are plenty of good USRA-type Open Wheel Modified shows from July 1st to 3rd on Independence Day weekend anchored by COMP Cams Doug Murphrey Memorial IX at Ark-La-Tex Speedway on Sunday the third!  That one has a $20,000 cash purse, $26,000 total with product certificates and awards included, $5000 to win, $400 to start the A, non-qualifier awards with **NO entry, license, car nor registration fees AT ALL!**  Pit pass just $35 and a 3-wide, fun, racy track too.

Pick out 2 or 3 of these but make sure one of them is in Vivian, Louisiana on Sunday.

For example, sweep the Modified part of the Freedom Classic weekend on Friday and Saturday at Salina Highbanks while you take in the MARS/MLRA Late Model show and then win the Murphrey Memorial too and earn a take home value of $9750 on the weekend with a minimum $8000 of that in CASH!!!

Here's what I've found so far along with the Ark-La-Tex flier:

If you just want to get down here and race the other tracks close to Ark-La-Tex Speedway, there are a lot of options, things to do and areas to stay where you can base your operations for the weekend.

Tracks in the Ark-La-Tex area racing Modifieds that weekend:

On Saturday, July 2nd three of our closest tracks to Ark-La-Tex will be racing Modifieds and a fourth one will be in action on Friday night with the class for those who want to get away earlier and make it an even longer weekend.

Lonestar Speedway near Kilgore, Texas -- one hour and 20 minutes from Vivian -- will have the SUPR Late Models on July 2nd along with a $1500 to win/$100 to start, no entry fee Modified support class show.

Boothill Speedway in Greenwood, Louisiana will also be in action with Modifieds that Saturday night and they are located just 40 minutes south of ALT. $800 to win/$80 to start.

Texarkana 67 Speedway on the Arkansas side will also be racing on Saturday with Modifieds as one of the classes. It's located one hour north of Ark-La-Tex. $400 to win/$60 to start

On Friday night, July 1st, Timberline Speedway located 20 minutes west of Texarkana and one hour north of Ark-La-Tex Speedway hosts the SUPR Late Models with Modifieds running as a support class. From there, it's either 35 minutes over to 67 Speedway, one hour and 30 minutes down to Boothill or one hour and 40 minutes to Lonestar for Saturday's races. All 4 of these tracks use the same type of Mod rules that the DMM uses.

Like casinos? Shreveport-Bossier City is loaded with them. Most of them are centered around the river between the two cities and all have hotels. They are about 45 minutes from Ark-La-Tex Speedway, only 20 minutes or so from Boothill and about an hour and 10 minutes from Lonestar.

Jefferson, Atlanta, Marshall and Texarkana are other places with hotels near by. Texarkana is one hour north of Ark-La-Tex and would work out well for Timberline-67-ALT. Jefferson and Marshall would be great locations to base out of for Lonestar, Boothill and then Vivian while Atlanta and Jefferson works well for just about any combination of the tracks you want to run.
