I just wanted to let everyone know that the welcoming committee at the Calistoga RV Park is really rolling out the red carpet this weekend for the race fans, as they do every year, by jacking up their already overpriced RV sites from $60 to $65/night, and of course requiring a 2 night minimum for a one night show. For being the most historical track in California, the bag of dicks at the RV park sure know how to make a guy feel like a stranger. They're clearly doing everything they can to drive the races, and race fans out of town. Just FYI, I don't just bitch here, I let them know how I feel upon arrival every year, and if it wasn't going to be 97 degrees, I wouldn't be paying to stay in the RV park, I would park in the parking lot for free.

Correction, they're jacking the rates from $50/night to $65/night, x 2. $130. To put that in perspective, I pay $160 total to park my motorhome at the track for all four nights of the Knoxville Nationals, and that includes water and electricity as well.

Not a Veteran, but thanks for looking out. Believe me when I say I've checked out all the options. Calistoga is always a family racing weekend for us (as they all are now days), my wife and kids really like to go there, as do I. If they dont want to go, I can't go. Every year I remind myself to stay calm, they're going to charge for two nights, and jack up rates a bit. It is what it is. But every year it's getting harder to swallow because they keep raising the price. This year the gal told me it was $60/night, and then after I gave her my credit card info, she said "oh a... it's $65.00 this weekend", and yes you're paying for two nights even though you're only staying one. I will never be ok with that. Standard rates are listed on their website at $50/night. I'm done now. Enjoy the races!
