It's a business move that only a man like him could make. It sure is risky, but I'm sure he is banking on making some of the money back off of concessions from a full crowd. But he's also promoting dirt racing and hopefully will draw new fans (also good for him in the long run). Like I said, it takes a person with his pocketbook to be able to eat this upfront cost in what could pay off big in the long run. Nevertheless, it's a great opportunity for fans and racers.
My complaint was solely on the twitter post saying those that bought tickets were "covered". I don't know how many people bought single tickets for the canceled race, but I still stand by my notion that those specific people are kind of getting the short end of the straw by essentially paying to go to a free race.

Absolutely!! And if new fans come this weekend, or old fans who haven't been for a while come this weekend, he may have an even larger crowd the following weekend for the outlaws.
Not arguing. I was just saying the people with season tickets aren't out any money from this past weekends rainouts. That money goes towards next years season ticket, which I know no other track right around here does. thats why I never got a season ticket in the past because if we have a wet summer, I'm money behind. That is not the case with badlands season ticket holders. Yes you are correct, someone with season tickets technically paid for this coming weekend, and instead is getting in for free. But on the flip side, that same season ticket holder hasnt lost a dime when it rains out. I'm curious as to why he is offering season ticket holders their money back for their season tickets. (Which by the way means the first however many races were technically free for them). Is he doing this for the people who might be mad that everyone gets in free when they actually purchased season tickets? Or is it for all the people who had season tickets including the concerts and now they are feeling upset?

Murphy, Im thinking thats the way things work, but when signing in, all you have to do is look out in the pits and see a car number and put that down and your in. I sent a PM to Tom Savage. Im pretty sure it will be handled in the best way possible. I just wanted to make it known that there was considerable liability risk involved.
Green 18. Im pretty sure when he offered to buy their season passes back at full refund that it was intended to shut the bitchers up. It worked like a dream regarding that aspect...

So a track owner/promoter does a great thing and you suggest everyone go one step further and take full advantage of that? I don't think you should be the one stating who is classy as in your earlier post.

what about the race teams making the trek from jackson instead of going to K-ville on Sat? you would think they would be money ahead.
