Had to transfer through the B (or "Last Chance Qualifier" as they call it). I believe he blew an engine (reports of oil under his car on track), hence why he pulled off. Forget the 23rd place finish. A DNF (his 2nd this year?) is more suprising.

What was going on in the heats last night? In each heat, the outside pole sitter didn't finish in the top 2 and twice finished all the way in 6th.

Im not a Huge Schatz fan, but, truthfully the question on this should be asked towards Ron Shaver.. one of the top five reasons the 15 has been so good for the past 10 years is because of his motor program, specific componets can cause failure , but, the Shaver program has been spot on, for example, how many other teams run Shavers? they kinda have a "in house" advantage to a engine program that produces, with talent, a ton of seat time and a crew dynamic it adds up to makes them tuff, realistically, the past dnf's of D.S. have all been of mechanical failure, thats just fact, its hard to believe with so many components that could mechanically fail, rearend, body, arms, cooling, ect ect ect, many other teams seem to encounter more frequently, im hoping the 49 and a few others can give him a run for it this year. every dog has his day.. and once a driver gets in a slump it sometimes grows difficult to pull out of, But history tell us each and every hit. D.S . has taken, he has rebounded in fine fashion..

Donny currently leads the WoO in wins (10), top 5's (25) and top 10's (35). He's also the point leader. Nuff said.
