Oct 5th & 6th is a good night to test a Cruiser for Ark-La-Tex while you race for $1000 to win.
Two weeks later (Oct 18th-20th), that goes up to $5000 to win!

A couple of clarifications in case we missed them...
The tire rule at Ark-La-Tex is American Racer KK704 OR Hoosier G60 and you CAN groove the tires.
The Modified A main will be 40 laps this year.
The Vivian 1/4 mile oval is one of the racing-est, multi-groove tracks you can get on and it's relatively easy on equipment. In addition to being wide and multigroove where you can race each other without contact all weekend long, 3/4 of the track has plenty of run off before any barriers are reached which also saves equipment. The "black ice" feature condtions keeps folks off the gas in the corners but the progressive banking still provides 2 and 3 grooves on most nights. That makes it easier on motors too.
I can't tell you how many 20 and 25 lap Modified features I've seen there that went from green to checker without a caution but it's a lot! I'm real pleased with the 40-lap distance this year.
Great concessions too! Try a "Boyterito" while you're there. The place has great atmosphere all over, and the facilty is just 4 years old!!!
In short, the whole weekend is an ejoyable experience from practice to the final feature event which almost always comes before midnight every night!

The format:
It's two heats using passing points on Friday night. The combined score will either lock you into the front row of the A main on Saturday night or determine where you will start in your qualifying race on Saturday night. There will be at least 18 spots still open in the A mains on Saturday night as only the front row will be locked in, In other words, third place in passing points from Friday's heat races will start on the pole of the first qualifying race, 4th place in points will be on the pole of the second qualifying race, etc., etc.
