I really get sick of hearing everyone complain about the fuel stops... It's how the natioanls is ran... If you don't like it start your own nationals and see how many cars you get to show up... I think Knoxville is doing ok with 100+ cars every year

I really get sick from eating undercooked chicken at chinese buffet.

They are running 50 laps now , because fans like  it that way, even with a fuel stop .

I agree...especially if they keep it 50 laps with a fuel stop. He has already proven that is plenty of time to get to the front no matter how poor his qualifying night was. Plus, he could possibly miss the set up once, but given a second chance during the fuel stop makes beating him far less unlikely.

Its 50 laps for everyone else too. How come Schatz is the only one to win from 21st?

The only fair way to judge would be to compare Nats that they both competed in. I don't have time to do that right now, but???

I'll add my two cents about the fuel stops. I don't care how many they have just park the cars on the front stretch just like days gone by. Stop pulling them through the pits and making a NASCAR like spectical. I don't care who wins and really don't care if they still pull then through the pits for the pit stops I just love the feel of the biggest sprint car race there is. Schatz and Kinser are races against totally differant circumstances so its very hard to compare. I don't like seeing the same person win every year but it is what it is. JMHO!!!!

My thoughts exactly. The fact that Schatz is this close to the Kings Nationals record is incredible. That's one record I never thought we'd see go down. The King was the greatest of his era and Schatz owns the current era. Comparing the two is really a waste of time.

Schatz is no way comparable to Kinser! Kinser was phenomenol in his prime and his prime lasted a long damn time. Schatz is very good and I dont by any means discount his talent but there will never be another Steve Kinser! Even if Donny wins 20 Nationals he could never fill the Kings shoes.

With your logic, Kinsers Outlaw titles are junk because hardly any body else won a title during his dominance?

Yea it really is a waste of time fiXXXer considering Tony Stewart already has the thing bought once again. Doug Wolfgang is the greatest miraculous human being that has ever walked the grounds of Knoxville, Iowa. Yet you kids sit here and debate these two irrelavent rotten has-been pigs. Oh by the way....Take it easy

I agree with you on Wolfgang but as for the rest of your post, what the hell are you talking about?

It's just humorous people debating who's gonna win Knox Nats when Tony already has the thing bought, POINTLESS! Why don't we debate somthing a little more interesting......hmmmmm? What could it be? Ohhh I know......we should be debate which sloppy burger joint the Fargo Fatface will be gorging himself at before the race. Will it be 20 of donny's famous double quadrouple whoppers? Or maybe just a dozen of his favorite cream filled donuts? Hmm? Difficult to tell? What's your opinion Mike? Certainly sounds like a better debate that what you people had going on. Take It Easy.

Folks, Wendall was hit by a big mud clod very early in life.  He rode the short bus from that point on and now occasionally if Mom goes out and leaves the lap top on, he gets to make a dummy post.  Don't reply or try to figure out, that acts as encouragement, feeling sad for him is a much better fit, after all he appears to like (not know much about) sprint cars, nuttin' wrong with that....

Dude, I retired several years ago, moved back to Canada and am enjoying life on occasion, lol.  Nice to see Lance win, he's had many of those at the paper-clip known as America's Slowest Half Mile.  Keeps the big boys on their toes when they have a little competition.  You better be careful Mom will be back shortly and there won't be cookies and milk if you're on her 'puter, especially those other sites you been looking at, oops...

These kind of comparisons can never really be accurate.  I think if anyone asked Steve he would tell you that Donny is a great driver and he'd wish him continued success.  Steve came up in a different time, those of us who watched racing in the 60's and 70's know what I'm talking about.  The Outlaws were pretty rag tag group back when they stared out compared to what they are today.  Speeds have changed, sponsor demands have changed, and the competition has changed.  I think Steve is a great driver but I thought that about some of the guys I saw in the early 60's as well.  When Schatz first started coming to Cedar Lake with the WISSOTA 360's my son and I thought he might be a good one someday once he stoppped bouncing off the wallls.  Kent Winters was the big dog back then and Schatz was just a kid from somewhere up north who's family had enough money to pull another car out of the trailer whenever he'd bend one.  He wasn't anything special his first few years with the Outlaws and nobody knew if he'd make it or end up back up here racing on weekends.

I think it's difficult to compare drivers from different eras so I'm just happy to have seen both Kinser and Schatz race.  I won't be around in 20 or 30 years but some of you will and when you tell a young kid how great Kinser and Schatz were you'll get the same blank stare I get when I talk about Jerry Richert Sr. and Scratch Daniels.  wink

lol you are funny. And yes Mike, no shit your retired. When your discussing a decrepit old relic I think retirement is pretty much assumed. At least they paid you for it. I would be eternally greatful for that. And yes it most certainly was nice to see Lance win wasn't it. Actually Nice might be the understatement of the season so far. It was more like magical and incredible, watching Tony Stewart's Boyfried FAIL in Mechanicsburg once again is quite humorous, it really is. It just makes me chuckle. But Mr. Nelligan there's only one more question, one more question to ask sir..... Will the Blob from Fargo ever graduate and run with the big boys at the paper-clip every week? I ask you Mike, could he ever win a Championship in central PA? "a real Championship" Will he EVER.....EVER graduate from a circus clown to a major leaguer? That's all I ask Mike, That is all I ask.

Wendy, Mr. Schatz already has more W of O wins at the Grove than any Posse driver, Helloooo.  He would dominate and only a moron wouldn't already know this, you off your meds?

Wow dude are you having a psychotic break or something? Have you seen Donny lately???? He's in better shape than just about every other sprint car driver on earth. As far as Tony Stewart having the race bought, I don't know what the hell you're talking about and I'm pretty sure you don't either. You may want to go get some help man. Looks like you need it.
