I'm hearing well over 50 305 sprints have entered for next weekend at Knoxville. That ought to make it pretty interesting. Local car owner Bruce Clark will be fielding a two car team featuring regular shoe Steve Brezeale and veteran 360 driver Johnny "Lightning" Anderson.

Whats the low down on these 305's? I have not seen them yet. Are they anywhere close to the 360s? Wings? Are they pretty competitive? Hopefully the door slammers will put on a descent show.
I'll be pulling for our local boys (Brian Birkhofer & Jason Utter) to beat the NASCRAP stars.

I have only seen the 305's a couple times, but they appear to the common person to be as good as the 360's
Close racing and believe it or not, some passing even!
and to think that they are stuck having DLM's for their support class lol lol lol

Yeah I know. Those DLM's as a support class. Geesh
You guys kill me. I love anything that races on dirt. It's just better racing. The Dirt Late Models at Knoxville put on a helluva show. As good as it gets in racing.
Give it a try. You might actually enjoy it.

DonnM, it's just tongue in cheek humor.
The late models are a pretty decent show at K-ville

anything on dirt is exciting..a boring sprint car race still beats an exciting late model race..ive seen plenty of late model races at knoxville and still enjoy them but nothing compares to a sprint car

It should be a very very good show as both types are very racy and close... I hope the weather is nice and some of the door banger fans get off their duffs and make this show...

90% of the people there will either be sprint car fans or people who just want to see Tony.
Without Tony, the race would be a total failure like 100% of the DLM shows have been without Tony.
Yes the DLM's put on a good show, yet compared to a Sprint Car, they are boring as all get out.
They sort of remind me of a barn door in a tornado. lol
Plain and simple, Knoxville could charge the same price for a 4 hour autograph session with Tony and not even have a race. lol
Please Note:
Third turn will be having a diversity training session at 10AM in the meeting hall.
Subject of the training, "How to enjoy watching grass grow" "Watching paint dry will be offered also if time permits lol lol lol lol

IMHO ..... the DLM's run too many laps in their feature at Knoxville. I would think about setting thru maybe 40 laps. I went to a Silver Crown race or some such thing a Knoxville a few years ago and it was a 100 lapper and I'd bet half the crowd was gone by the halfway point. No one I know enjoys watching pit stops at a dirt track. The biggest paying race in all of dirt track racing is 30 laps and no one is "conserving fuel" or "saving their tires" Go like hell as fast and for as long as you can .... win it or wear it. (Schatz, Saldana and McCarl)
p.s. Drano: You are dead nuts on ... pay Stewart for an autograph session and you'll have the same "net" at the end of the day.

after hearing what people actually paid to watch Jr. "practice", I just have to laugh.
Those people in the stands were starstruck first, race fans second.
I guess I see the "big" names in racing on a weekly basis at Knoxville either on or off of the track, I guess I am immune to celebrities.

I can't make it down there but I'm pulling for the Jet, Justin Fegers. Their pit was always a frequent post race beer stop and opportunity to visit with the Fegers clan and wrench Donnie C.
As far as the 305's go I'm not familiar with them but 50 of any kind of Sprints has to be a good show.

Your statement "Knovville Raceway where NASCAR Drivers go to Race
not Pratice". Is a poor attempt to put down another track just north of
town. You know what Cup driver have raced there, not just practiced, as well as anybody.
Your person ax to grind is probably justified but lets be honest about
it.
Late models at Kville are a miserable marathon. As were the silver crowns 100 lap feature referenced earlier.
If Cappy and McCoy want to hold the crowd they should run the sprint feature last.
