This Saturday, May 21st is one of the biggest points nights of the season at LoneStar Speedway (LSS) with the running of the "For the love of Alex, Stop Texting and Driving" spectacular...with over $18,000 in cash being paid out to race teams, and without any driver Entry Fees!
Trisha and Robert Taylor have stepped up to help raise awareness of the dangers of texting and driving, and also helping to increase the competitor purse in the LSS points divisions for this special night of racing.
On April 26, 2010 Trisha and Robert Taylor received the call that forever changed their lives, as their daughter Alex had been in an accident and was being taken by air flight to East Texas Medical Center, and would not survive her injuries. The accident was attributed to texting and driving.
Robert is veteran LoneStar Speedway driver, along with his wife Trisha, continue to help raise awareness of the dangers of texting and driving, at their Facebook page titled For the love of Alex Stop Texting and Driving.

This will be a point’s race for all LoneStar divisions, and was originally advertised to be $1,300 to win, each, for the Modifieds, Factory Stocks and Limited Modifieds. The new FWD 4-Cylinders will round out the 4-division racing card.
However, Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts in Vivian LA has added $100 to win for the Limited Modifieds and Factory Stocks; plus the winners of the Modfieds, Factory Stocks and Limited Modifieds will also receive a new VP Racing fuel jug. Special thanks to Chris Franks and the Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts staff for their support of this event.
We would also like to thank Jim Hitz of All Points Systems Wholesale Copiers - Marshall, TX (phone 318-465-5075) for adding $500 to the total event purse. Jim also races at LSS regularly.
There are no added competitor entry fees in any division on May 21st.
The latest weather forecast is showing the next round of precip leaving the area at some point on Friday mid-day, which should give us adequate time to get the property and track whipped into shape, as Saturday's race day forecast is for sunny and 87°.

MODIFIEDS 25 LAPS: $1,300-800-600-500-400 (5th)-350-300-275-250-225 (10th)-200-175-150-125...to start!
LIMITED MODIFIEDS 20 LAPS: $1,400-600-400-300-225 (5th)-200-180-160-140-120 (10th)-100...to start!
FACTORY STOCKS 20 LAPS: $1,400-500-400-300-200 (5th)-180-160-140-120-100 (10th)-80...to start!
FWD 4CYL: $120-100-80-60-40-30...to start!
As at every 2016 LoneStar point’s night events, non-qualifier money will be paid in all three divisions: $50 for Modifieds, $30 for Limited Modifieds and $20 for Factory Stocks. There is no entry fee in any race divisions on May 21. New driver registration is $30/race division.

Adult tickets are just $15 (ages 12-64), while Seniors/Active Military are $13, Kids (ages 6-11) are $5, and youngsters ages 5 and under are free with Adult admission. All pit passes for all ages will be $35.
Fans can expect a great field of drivers from throughout the region competing for this event!
RaceCeivers are required for drivers; however mufflers at LoneStar Speedway are not required, so race fans can hear the cars the way nature intended for them to be heard!

-Pits open by 3pm, Grandstands open by 5:30pm, LSS divisions Draw Cut off at 6:30pm sharp, LSS Drivers Meeting at 6:45pm, Track Packing and Hot laps at 7:00pm and Racing to follow immediately after Hot Laps.
-General Admission just $15 (ages 12 to 64)
-Kids (ages 6-11) just $5
-Ages 5 and under admitted free with adult admission
-Active Military or Senior (Ages 65+): General Admission $13
-Upgrade any ticket to the Reserved Section for $5 per person
-All Pit Passes for all ages are $35
