Port is fine if you like high speed single file racing with 1 or 2 cars doing all the passing. Lincoln is great if you want to actually see some RACING. there may not always be a pass for the lead there, but there is more action in the back of the field than there is at Port.....JMO

Just for the record, that was a pretty damned good Late Model feature also even if it wasn't sprint cars.

IMO....Lates are the best show at Port.

Like the All Star show. If it wasnt for Blaney and Marks passing cars. The race was lack luster with the other Blaney running away with it,and everyone else falling into line... Snooze fest.

It amazes me that we have two EXCELLENT racetracks who run 410 sprints every Saturday night with fields loaded with talent and annual visits by the All Stars and World of Outlaws and somehow people find reasons to bitch moan about one being better than the other. They're both great. Both are very unique and feature stellar competition every time they open their gates. Instead of arguing over which is better, just support them as much as you can because we're damned lucky to have them. Now back to your pointless arguing children.....
|
Yeah - what fiXXXer said - the first problem you have in comparing the two is that they are two completely different tracks - apples and oranges.
If I lived in the middle, I'd have to flip a coin...or maybe just alternate. I like the speed at Port but I've also witnessed more passing at Lincoln in one night than you might see in an entire season at the big tracks.

That is one of the most ridiculous misuses of statistics I've ever seen.
So if twice as many Street Stocks show up as sprints, the Street Stocks are twice as good?

You obviously don't attend many Port shows. Back in the pack is where the majority of passing takes place at Port. Alot of times there are few passes for the lead, hence the idiots complaining. But if they watched back through the pack they'd see alot of passing. So your statement is completely inaccurate.
Wizz, lol....Dirt Royal. Yep, it's a dirt track, last time I checked. I think stinky Lincy is as well.

35 cars because Selinsgrove rained out? Why can't they just put small tires on them and let the 360s race with them whenever they want?
"I didn't see a big problem when we had to put on the 16" (wide right rear tire) for the ASCS show. I think 16" is a move in the right direction, but it plain and simply is not enough. The tire companies will probably freak out on this, but I believe we need to cut the left rear width back to around 12" to help take some of the drive out of the car. Less tire, less power needed." - Jeff Swindell
They don't even know how to spell sprint car

Whether it used to be a horse racing track or not, it's still an oval and the surface is in fact clay so therefore it is a clay oval. For someone who likes to "do the math", that one should've been easy to figure out......

Jesus Christ, this thread is like a Summer's Eve convention. Pithy comments abound.
If you prefer Lincoln, go there, enjoy some Sensenig's, have a few beverages and shut up. If you prefer Port, go there, enjoy some of the Packer's concessions (when they're there), have a few beverages and shut up. I really like both tracks, but, if someone put a gun to my head and said, "Pick a track" I'd have to pick Port. But that's only because it's within staggering distance of a safehouse.
They are different tracks with different styles of racing as Wolfie pointed out earlier. Have fun wherever you're at.

Right on. Like I said previously, both tracks are great. Both are very different from one another and present a unique style of racing. I've said it before and I'll say it again, fans in Central Pa are spoiled rotten brats. Wonder how some of these people would like to live in a place like some posters from this forum do where the best thing you have going is a 305 track 2 1/2 hours away that also runs 19 divisions of stock cars and MAYBE an annual visit by the World of Outlaws? These people just need to take a second and think about what we have here and how lucky we are to have it.

Nope, never passed out on anyone's lawn after the races. Now, back in college....... I'll plead the 5th on that.

Next time, Whiz, why don't you start your own post about Lincoln results instead of starting a pissing contest on a thread about the Port?
Both tracks are cool, I'm one of those guys who lives 1 1/2 hrs. from a crappy, occasional 305 track & enjoys the hell out of my Pennsyltucky visits every summer

port vs lincoln......I get so tired of seeing that wizzard guy blowing off on here
abourt how great stinkin lincoln is.....it is sickening, tell me where the 6 out of the first 7 cars race mostly, that finshed at susquehanna last nite.................
|
Top 5 dumbest things I've ever seen posted. So now we are comparing individual races. So now we have to wait for Grandview and see how many Port cars finish in the top 7 and how many Lincoln cars finish in the top 7 to compare which track is better? So stupid. So last race at Williams Grove, 5 of the top 10 finishers were Lincoln cars and Port Royal only had 4 of the top 10.....guess that means Lincoln is better.

I guess you're right, technically, you didn't say Lincoln was better, but you opened the door for pissing match to begin.
Don't you think LIncoln deserves its own thread?
And what do "liberal values" have to do with this anyway???
