After eating up the leaders in lapped traffic he got lucky with the yellow with two to go because the same thing was about to happen to him. Esh had already passed Ott for second and was going after Hodnett when the yellow came out. There is a real good chance that he was going to finsh third without the yellow.

I agree with this statement. Doug had a huge run on them on the bottom he was already past Ott and was going to pass Hodnett coming off turn 2. Greg was still bottled up with lapped traffic racing side by side on the highside. After the yellow and an open track they had no chance of beating him.
That is why Greg said in victory lane. "I got real lucky"
Let's go Sprint Car Racing!
Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

On yet another night when the big dogs gathered at The Speed Palace from all over Pa, OH, NY, & NJ, the pound puppies frittered the night away with their chew toys. A night of passing on the fast half mile that saw cars move from 9th to 1st, 12th to 3rd & 15th to 6th just to name a few. On a night that saw 36 sprint cars, 36 late models & 20 Limited Late Models invade the speedway for one hell of a night of racing, Greg Hodnett made it clear that no one in central Pa, big dogs or pound puppies, is better than he.

Montieth passed ten cars in the first seven laps of the feature...rolling the top from 17th to 7th.
glad we have two 410 tracks to choose from on Satirday nights and 1 of them is NOT the Dust Palace of Selinsgrove.
Lincoln 1845 ft/.35 mile T1=118MPH
Eldora 2287 ft/.43mile T3=135MPH
Port 2716 ft/.51 mile T3=TBD
Grove 2792 ft/.53 mile T3=135MPH
Selinsgrove 2847 ft/.54 mile T1=136MPH

LOL ummm Lincoln had plenty of just as fast cars from PA, NY, VA, NJ, and MD soooo what's your point. 36 cars is nice. Didn't hear you bragging the last 3 regular shows when the car counts at Port Royal were 21, 17, and 18 ouch. No need to be a douche.

lol......I agree.........Port fans call Lincoln JV league........If it is so JV why does Hodnett run Port........I know he knows it is a probable easy win. less fast cars to contend with.....lol

How many of them 36 sprints cars were 360's because Selinsgrove canceled? The level of the field shows between one track over the other. 9 different winners at Lincoln. Hodnett wins most of them at Port. don't get me wrong he may pick up a win or 2 at Lincoln throughout the year. Other than that hes lucky to get a top 5 there. Why is that? Tougher compitition at lincoln over Port..JMO. At port he only has maybe 4 top notch cars to deal with.....Lincoln he was 20 other fast cars to beat.....not hard to figure out why he likes Port. next week they will get the normal 18 cars again.

Wasn't Hodnett at Lincoln last week? Didn't he set a NTR & win his heat by a straightaway before the rain?
Didn't he win the season opener & win an Outlaw race there last year? Maybe the other top dogs go to Lincoln
because Hodnett's at Port.

Maybe everyone picks the track they run for reasons that have nothing to do with anything you guys are mentioning? Some are because of travel, others are the competition, whether it's better or worse, every night os different. Some might even just run better at short tracks than big tracks and vice versa. For a discussion board, there's usually more of a pissing match between keyboard jockeys. Just go to the races that you want to go to and talk to the people there. Less arguing about what track is better when you're choosing the same one.

I have been to Selinsgrove 2 times, Port once and hope to make it to Lincoln and Williamsgrove sometime in the near future. I also hope to make it to the new and improve Susky sometime this year.
Let's go Sprint Car Racing!
Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

For the record, statistically Hodnett is better at Lincoln than Port Royal. Ever think maybe he runs port Royal because it's more prep for Knoxville? From what most drivers say, Port replicates Knoxville more than any track around here.

It amazes me that we have two EXCELLENT racetracks who run 410 sprints every Saturday night with fields loaded with talent and annual visits by the All Stars and World of Outlaws and somehow people find reasons to bitch moan about one being better than the other. They're both great. Both are very unique and feature stellar competition every time they open their gates. Instead of arguing over which is better, just support them as much as you can because we're damned lucky to have them. Now back to your pointless arguing children.....

Just for the record, that was a pretty damned good Late Model feature also even if it wasn't sprint cars.

I don't need to do any math to know that I see people on this thread taking shots at both tracks and it's stupid. Just about every time I go to Lincoln or Port Royal I see good racing on a well prepped surface and a pit area full of quality teams. There's no reason for people to talk shit about either track.

Agreed. Lincoln/ Port pissing match is silly. Pa. fans are lucky to have so many tracks. Just go to the one you like best....

Port has sharp turns and Knoxville has sweeping turns. They are nothing alike. I have been to Knoxville 12 times and I don't see the simularties.

No link for this. But the year Dewease was rookie of the Nationals in Walt Dyer's car, he made the comment tha Knoxville reminded him a lot of Port Royal.
