(Kansas City, KS) – It’s official! The Boss Chassis Wingless Auto Racing Series will be featured along with the Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car Dirt Series at the McCarthy Auto Group KCKlassic next Thursday night, May 5 at Lakeside Speedway. It means both wing and non-wing sprint cars will be in action on the very fast four-tenths mile dirt on the same night.
“Everyone in the K C area and all the WAR guys are excited about racing at Lakeside,” said WAR Series promoter Casey Shuman. ”Our racing this season has been awesome with lots of side-by-racing racing and that’s definitely what fans will see at Lakeside.”
Clinton Boyles, who stepped into a non-wing car for the first time this year, leads the current WAR points and is fresh off his first feature win in a non-wing sprint car last Saturday night at I-35 Speedway. Young Boyles leads the points after three events with three top-five finishes. T J Muths and Chris Parkinson, who each led laps at I-35, are other favorites to win along with Kenny Potter and Warren Johnson who complete the top-five in the current standings.
“We are thrilled to be able to finalize bringing in the WAR Series,” said RacinBoys Scott Traylor, co-promoters of the event. ”The theme behind the K C Klassic is Kansas City is a sprint car town, and for many years, the very best sprint car drivers lived here or came here to race. By having both wing and non-wing together, it adds to the rich history of the great sprint car racing in Kansas City through the years.”
B-Modifieds will round out the card with increased purse and weekly points up for grabs.
