Now I know that Kraig is not his father, but the kid still has a lot of talent, or at least a lot more than these finishes imply:
Attica: B Main 19th
Wayne County: B Main 7th
Bedford: A Main 17th after transferring to the A
What has changed since last season? Are they experimenting with some new chassis or are they on a different engine program? New crew chief?
I have always enjoyed Kraig racing and feel that, much like his dad, he was going to hit a sweet spot around 30. He is 31 now so I would have expected this year to potentially be a breakout. It would appear at this point they have a ways to go.

Kraig crashed hard at Attica and Wayne County and was on his 3rd car of the weekend at Bedford. He dropped out of the heat and won the B. By feature time the track was pretty shot and there wasn't much passing, so a 17th from 21st isn't all that bad.

I believe he's running a new chassis, which he did win with in Florida. Maybe he doesn't have a lot of set up notes for these OH tracks (and Bedford), especially visiting this early in the season when the track surface is a bit different this time of year vs mid and even late summer. Maybe?

I know two things for sure:
1. His problem is not his personality. He is one of the most approachable drivers in the pits. Great to kids and adults alike. Always a smile on his face-at least every time I have seen him.
That being said-
2. ...............he hasn't been good in a while. I don't think a different chassis, engine or crew chief would be making much of a difference if that were going on. I don't feel like you are going to see him hit a sweet spot--that already happened about the time he won the Nationals and got pulled into NASCAR.
I was at a WOO race in Beaver Dam, WI 5 or 6 years ago and he put an ass whooping on everyone--started 11th or 14th or something like that and took the lead 15 or 20 laps in and ran away from everyone but Donny who started around 18th if I am not mistaken. That is the last time I can remember seeing or reading about him running in dominant fashion. Wish him the best but I think the best are past him.
