7 out of the first 11 posts I see right now (21 Apr 16, 0830) are spam. Does Hoseheads have a moderator? If so, please nip this in the bud now - it's getting worse. Thanks!

I agree wholeheartedly!! I'm a firm believer that forums such as this should require a minimal fee to belong; say $5 a year.

That would help eliminate spammers plus might discourage a few who do nothing but complain or constantly berate other posters.

There may be a way to discourage the spammers.........either they get 0 clicks or we blast each spam in droves and tell them to get lost (being nice about it)........or simply tell them to get the F off and stay the F off (not being so nice)....

Agree. If people (us) would not click on them, they probably will move on.

I sincerely doubt that they come back and check to see who's clicked their links. They flood the internet, plain and simple.

Rather like throwing 1000 darts hoping 1 will stick.

Is the price for people reading or just posting on any thread? I like if you post on any thread  it costs you $5.00.

A lot of sites have a it setup where you must have at least 50 posts or some set number before you are allowed to start a new topic.  That might suffice here.

I was thinking just for posting rights. And, if $5 a year is too much to pay, you don't care enough to post anyway.

That would stop alot of people that post only once or twice a year. I read almost every day. Just don't post on most topics. Get way to much negative feedback.

Besides most of the posts are from middle of the U.S. I live on the west coast.

But, perhaps that would stop the negative feedback. I would also like to see that people be made to use their real names and locations.

I've long said that the problem with message boards/forums is that everyone can remain anonymous. For myself, if you can't figure out who I am from my user name, you've got bigger problems. wink
